Sitting here thinking during this lock-down time I was thinking

Wouldn't be nice if the user can assign the consumables to the slot they want?

Say AP slot 1, HE slot 2, Smoke slot 3, Boost slot 4,  you get the point, that way no matter what ship you are in your finger knows which button to push for a specific consumable.

There is times i go to hit smoke out of reflex and it is not smoke which gets me killed. Such a simple thing... Heck just let me do it in keyboard mapping for each ship if need be ill do the work. But would sure make life easier.

We have been asking for this for years and years.

Instead we got Puerto Rico...

Yeah, one thing That Other Game has going for it is comprehensive key mapping. Like JCC says, we've been begging for little quality-of-life enhancements like this for years.

She's a great ship too.  Thankfully not many players understand her capabilities allowing citadel city.  DMs, salem, moskva, you name it she cits and dev strikes left and right.

Precisely -- those who make ships don't program game features.  Thus, stating the obvious that many things have been requested has nothing to do with the fact we got another ship.

The trouble is, they aren't going to be able to make money off of key mapping whereas they can make a ton of money off of new ships.

My only question is, why do they even bother earning more money if this is literally their HQ:

Image result for wargaming studios

Amazing looking studio btw but you get my point.

I'd settle for standardized consumable keys, so that T isn't repair, smoke, DFAA, or whatever randomly on different ships.

Just wave your magic wand for them -- priority in a for-profit entity goes to items which can be marketed to keep the lights on and servers up.  Even a little change like allowing unlimited economic flags, even though being a simple trivial small variable in the system still takes 2 patch  cycles to implement after announcement. There are many mods that should be put into the game as well -- the vanilla client is at best a D, maybe D+.   I don't expect to see those making ships stop and cross-train for another type of work so they can program in whatever changes you deem necessary.   A lot of the areas where the UI is lacking can be complimented via mod station.  It's a bit annoying to have to patch 2 different items for 1 game, but the alternative is that D rated vanilla client.

OK... thread topic aside, context aside, concept of customer satisfaction as an element of a successful business aside... you get the last word as you are clearly the smartest guy in the room.

Oops.

Speaking of the battle UI... has anyone found a mod that reverts the bloated cartoonish pipper/reload indicator, and the consumable and ammo indicators at the bottom, back to what they looked like a few patches ago?
