I agree it would be great to see some Brazilian ships in game, however if we are to get a ship with the name Minas Gerais, I reckon we're somewhat more likely to get the battleship from 1908. Personally I'd quite like to see the carrier Minas Gerais in game, and perhaps we could instead get Sao Paulo to represent that class of battleship.

Of course, there are many options for Pan American carriers and battleships at low to mid tier, but filling out the higher ranks would be somewhat difficult if we were to try to make a full tech tree. Still, whether it be full lines or sets of premiums, there is great potential for more ships from South and Central America.

One day in the future (I don't have any idea about when) we'll have more ships to the Pan-America tech tree, which currently has only one ship (the Tier 7 Nueve de Julio), and around June of this year she'll make 2 years since her release.

Currently the playerbase wants more high tier premium ships, especially German and Italian ships. So I guess that the second Pan-American ship won't be released soon and the community will have to wait a lot until then.

Yeah, Warship’s accountants seem congenitally unable to see any potential in lower/mid tier ships.

Apparently their spreadsheets say nobody plays anything except tier 10s...

So much this.... NO more CVs.  Do you really want your country's only ship a CV?? (hated by the majority) Yeh let us have a very cool Tier 3 Premium BB Minas or Sao Paulo.

wounld't mind more pan-american units, but I'd like WG to fix/balance carriers first before adding anymore to the game.:fish_book:

No.  They just see more return on investment on high tier Premiums.

Whether we like it or not is a different story.

There are actually a good many lower tier BB's that could be brought in as Pan-American ships.  Both Brazil and Argentina had Britain building some fist class dreadnoughts that were some of the most powerful ships at the time.

Well Argentina bought dreadnoughts from the US, but Brazil and Chile both bought them from Britain. And had WW1 not broken out just before she would've been laid down, Riachuelo would've brought the title of "world's most powerful warship" back to Brazil on account of being basically an up-armored Queen Elizabeth class. A title she would've held onto until HMS Hood's commissioning.

Not quite.

The main belt is about half an inch thicker than the Queen Elizabeths and the Revenges, which is still no greater than the American battleships of the time. It matches the Revenge for speed, or thereabouts, whilst being slower than the Queen Elizabeths and faster than the Pennsylvannias. Bayern is slightly more armoured, but also slower.

TLDR: Not the most powerful battleship, but certainly one of the most. Too close to call between them all, really.

Acording to Wikipedia Brazil operated the F4U-1D. Argentina used the F4U-5 and F4U-5N and the NL.

So We may sketch a line with somethin like these

t4: Artillero: A planned reconvertion of a former escort carrier turned to merchant. Argentina wanted a training carrier to familiarize his future naval air wing with sea operations. Only plans. Aircraft:  May be Corsair O2U? FM-21?

t6: Almirante Brown: Another plan. This time to turn the 8500 ton cruiser in a carrier post ww2. May be equiped with At-6 Texan

t8: The Minas Geraes, equiped with the F4U-1D

t10: The independencia equiped with the F4U-5

I know is a long shot. Is just a sketch.

A few pictures of the aircraft I mentioned from Argentina (I could not get a single one from the Brazilian Corsair)

I did a bit more research and I could not find any Brazilian source telleing me about those F4U-1D. Do you have something about that aircraft in Brazil? Or may be is a mistake in the wikipedia.

If Brasil didn't use them them we can equip minas gerais with planes form Honduras or Salvador. It will be strange, but after all Panamerica is joint nations tech tree. And it will be a nice gesture to the chosen country.

The NAeL Minas Gerais, of the Brazilian Navy, unfortunately did not operate any fighter from the 1940s or 1950s. Our aircraft carrier initially operated the Grumman S-2A and S-2E Tracker (in Brazil, respectively P-16A and P-16E) . Then he incorporated the Grumman C-1 Trader. In 1987, he was unable to operate fixed wing aircraft. Only in 1996 did it start operating planes on its deck again, using the McDonnell Douglas A-4M Skyhawk II. Apart from these aircraft, Minas Gerais operated helicopters.

I will allow myself to self-plagiarize and post my opinion on NAeL Minas Gerais.

On 8/7/2018 at 1:59 AM, DemetriusDF79 said:

As for the video, about the aircraft carrier NAe São Paulo (A-12), I think it does not make much sense to be hypothetically quoted for the game. He served in the French Navy in the 1960s and Brazil bought it only in 2000.

The aircraft carrier closest to the reality of the game would be the NAeL Minas Gerais (A-11) Colossus-Class that was launched on January 15 1945, by the Royal Navy as HMS Vengeance, which was later commissioned by the Royal Australian Navy in 1952 as HMAS Vengeance. Only in 1960, Vengeance was purchased by the Brazilian Navy and named Minas Gerais.

The NAeL Minas Gerais generates some difficulties for the game: (1) Same name of the battleship Minas Geraes (name with the old spelling, 1908); (2) while an aircraft carrier of the Brazilian Navy, it is fifteen years after the World War II; and (3) by 1960, it had the modern characteristics of a post-war carrier.

HMS Vengeance (R71), 1945 - In this photo, loaned to the Royal Australian Navy as HMS Vengeance (1952 - 1955).

Notice the distinct difference.

Well we could do a truelli panamerican CV and use aircraft from other panamrican countries. It will be very strange nevertheless.
