With ranked upon us again, I figure it was time to post a guide on dodging CVs.

The trick is that you don't want to spend your time dodging bombs, torps and rockets, the dodging should happen before the game starts. That's right, ladies and gentlemen!! "Just dodge" in queue.

The things you will need for this is your LH index finger, keen awareness, good hand eye coordination, and razor sharp reflexes.

When in queue, you want to be watching the furthest most LH number on the screen. This tells you how many carriers are in queue. Because of mirrored MM for CVs, if this says "2" you want to get back to port as fast as possible. However, you have to wait about 1 or 2 seconds for this number to refresh when you first enter queue, it always displays the last number you had in there until it refreshes and that can be confusing. It's super terrifying to queue and see 2 cvs, but you need to wait that extra second or 2 until it refreshes.

While in queue, you want to keep your LH index finger on the escape key. I know it's very tempting when dealing with cvs to want to hold it on the Tilda key for aa sector, but you have to resist that urge. You can substitute your middle finger instead if more convenient and, actually, since we are dealing with cvs, I'd highly recommend using your middle finger for this.

When the queue says 0,thats not too much to worry about, but when it ticks to 1 you want to be ready to go. As soon as you see that number hit 2, you push that escape key as fast and as hard as you can. You then tidy your port up a little for about 30-40 seconds, check your flags and check your modules and upgrades, maybe open up your contacts list and search for someone, cause it usually takes about 30 seconds for the ui to find someone.

Then you swallow your fear and you click battle again. With any luck, that battle will have dropped and you try again to get in a battle with no CV's.

There is a huge debate whether or not you should hit that escape button when their is only 1 cv in queue, because when the battle drops, you never know what ship entered queue to finish off mm's requirements. That's completely personal preference and depends on how much mental fortitude you have while waiting for the team list to show whether you made the right decision or not.

But there you have it! How to dodge cvs in ranked.

This satirical post was brought to you in part by:

Dodging is a Canadian specialty. They've been importing draft dodgers for generations. :Smile_teethhappy:

This is good advice, @Ducky_shot.  I've been queue dodging CVs in ranked since ranked started.  Works 100% of the time, every time. ;)

I have some friends that live in Saskatchewan.

One of their dogs escaped, and they watched it running away for 3 days in a row....

Do you use genuine Saskatchewan Seal Skin bindings on your rescue sleds?

Too obscure?

OHHH   I would have suggested the Cypress hills Interprovincial park.

Draft ended about 3 generations ago (almost 50 years now)...at least the US 1.
