Who researches the game parameters and what source do they use?

I have just a few remarks in this regard:

USA officers include Commodore...Wrong

Armour on most ships totally incorrect (Mexico has 23 mm belt when it is actually 12-14 inches)

Destroyers sink Battleships with gunfire; come on!

will continue later

Addendum: My source is Janes Fighting ships-the best!

Balance does not out-weigh bull.

I see I touched a nerve Duckie. You must be one of the "researchers".

New Mexicos Armor belt does not extend bow to stern. The bow plating is very thin as is the stern. She is an all or nothing armor scheme that the Brits and Americans used on most Captial ships after ww1. The Main belt got thinner the further aft or forward you went.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_or_nothing_(armor)

  • Belt: 8–13.5 in (203–343 mm)
  • Barbettes: 13 in (330 mm)
  • Turret face: 18 in (457 mm)
  • Turret sides: 9–10 in (229–254 mm)
  • Turret top: 5 in (127 mm)
  • Turret rear 9 in (229 mm)
  • Conning tower: 11.5 in (292 mm)
  • Decks: 3.5 in (89 mm)

Your comments are worthless if you don't cite your references.

  • What WoWS statement are you talking about
  • Why is your statement correct while the [whatever] is wrong.

Commodore is indeed an operational rank in USN, albeit rarely if ever used any more. see below

"Mexico"?

DD can sink (actually destroy) a BB with gunfire -- in the game!  You don't like it?  There are other games.

Please realize that this is an arcade game, not a naval simulator.

Historical accuracy is hedged for the sake of game balance.

Commodore is a positional referral now.

Usually used to refer to an O-6 Captain with authority over multiple ships - ie: Destroyer Squadron Commander.

It is still used quite frequently.

Back in WWII, RDML (1 star Admiral) was known as Commodore.

OP wants game to be a simulator which it was never intended to be.

Hopefully he does us a favor and deletes this thread.
