Did you not notice the Octpber Revolution? Or any other RU cruiser/DD that can citadel any cruiser?

The new RU cruisers are all WIP and months away... we could possibly wait to see what they look like on PTS...

Or we could let phantom fears and kneejerk reactions distract us from upcoming garbage like the IFHE/armor/HE rebork.

Yeah, it's getting really hard to say that new Soviet ships don't tend to be really strong compared to other lines. Stalingrad, Smolensk, RU BBs, and now RU cruisers. I think WG is catering to the RU server.

You know Kremlin went through testing too, right?

With any amount of luck, Nevsky will ONLY be the most competitive in its role, instead of nearly invalidating every other pick outside of niche roles.

The same Kremlin that hands out citadels like Oprah if it shows a hint of broadside?

Yeah, I'm aware.

The problem I see is that the Soviets continued to design large gun cruisers, battleships, and oversized destroyers with overoptimistic estimates for everything long after everyone else did.

With the end of the war it was clear that airpower was all important in naval combat. The US Navy also had a glut of modern cruisers and fast battleships and the largest surface combatants the Soviets had were ancient WWI-era battleships and a few cruisers that compare poorly to something like the Baltimore class. Despite plans for a huge modern navy the only gun cruisers the Soviets would complete post-war weren't all that much more capable than the WWII-era Cleveland and Fargo classes.

So the USN didn't bother designing any new gun cruisers or battleships beyond the Des Moines, Worcester, Iowa and (unbuilt) Montana classes. Missiles were going to be the future for surface combatants.

So we end up with Stalin's dream fleet circa 1955 versus everyone else circa 1945. There are a few exceptions like the British Minotaur and the fantasy French Republique but not a whole lot.

I have always held that there should be no ships in the game laid down or launched after the end of WWII. But this is an arcade game. Like in any casino, get used to the House throwing crap at you and always winning. That's WG and we are the suckers.

Having a citadel that you can actually hit is not a strong defense against being OP. If you aren't a complete space cadet, that citadel weakness is a non-factor, and the only thing keeping it somewhere within the realm of reality. It's much, much easier to work around than Yamato's is, at the VERY least.

Must be a lot of space cadets with Kremlins, then.   I routinely see them eat it.

The most powerful ships in this game won't save a good % of the playerbase.

You give a Potato good 'ol Stalingrad, he's still a Potato.  How many times have you encountered a good ship being played awfully?  When it gets destroyed in an embarrassing manner, you can only think, "What a waste."

Just watched NoZoupForYou new video and his explanation of the decline of Russian players may explain this new ship line and why they are OP.

I recommend watching World of Warships State of the Game 2020.

Not to be 'that guy,' but don't you make the opposing argument when it comes to waiting on submarines?

Just shoot them. They sink like anything else.
We'll see a lot of them on the battlefield after their release then that will taper off like all the other ship lines that have dropped previously.

Pretty interesting.  RU Server took a massive hit in its overall history.  Whoever is in charge for handling the dwindling RU Server player numbers must be stressing the hell out trying to save that part of the ship.  Looked like that if the trend continued, even NA would have had more than RU.

I'm not a unicum, but far from average-- I can sleep my way into 67 WR in that ship across the 48 games I have played in her, and that's while ALSO being reckless to all abandon.

Yes, she is OP.  If you don't believe it, I think you'll think otherwise once you get her, play her a bunch, then swap around between battleships then back to her-- the types of positions you can get away with will astound you, I'm almost certain of it.

If you have Kuznetsov or whatever his name is (I just call him P2W captain from the event he was introduced), it'll be that much more hilarious.

Or, step into a yamato and shoot at a broadside Kremlin at longer ranges-- citadels won't come as easily as it should.

Just trust me on this one.  If you're wondering why I've hit only 48 games in her as I had her very early on, only 2 days after her release its because I literally felt it was too boring to play her in randoms.  Mind you, I'm also stepping back from BB play in general gradually so there's that too.

Its funny you got into a conversation with Seraphic about this, as they have seen firsthand the types of stupid things I've done with the ship.  Now imagine what someone who truly is purple (consistently) can achieve.

The RU cruisers are just another line of tech tree ships, and can be adjusted post-release.

The "submarines" are a direct threat to the viability of the game, and their inclusion into the game is a fundamental error -- once they make it into the game's general modes, the game is done.

The upcoming HE/armor rebork is a can of worms that will be looked back on as the beginning of the end if it happens.

Or we could remember they released Kremlin and SinOP, ships with the singular weakness of easily sunk if sailed stupid.
