How do we get rid of the USS Puerto Rico that's sitting in the Dockyard?  I don't want it and I'm not interested in building it.

It disappears with the next update, which should probably happen this week

Glorious.  Thank you.  Will we then be able to build a ship of our choice?

Considering how "successful" the PR event went, WG won't have another dockyard event for a long time.

I would have preferred a promotion that if you were war gaming last Christmas season, and were actively war gaming through the year into the next Christmas season, depending on your level of activity, you could then have a pick of a Premium Ship from Tier V-X. The more active you are the higher the tier you would receive.

How about a new Dockyard for a new ship, with an extremely time consuming set of directives, but NO END DATE.  Work on it for as long as you want, take as long as you want, or grind as hard as you want.  Of course, pay boosters will be available to you, because WG needs to make money, and people would buy them.  Eventually you will be able to complete the ship and play it.  For as long as you take to grind it out, however, you will be able to watch your shipbuilding process.  This is what made the Dockyard concept so brilliant, even though its application was brutally offensive.

If Dockyard gave you a choice of ships to build, that might work but I still think it's way to big of a pain in the [edited]and a total failure as far as I'm concerned.

I like this idea. Maybe add like little strategy thing into it like

  • Win 3 battle on X map to gather coal for ship
  • Win 3 battles in X mode to gather iron ore for ship
  • WIn 3 battle in X map with X ship to aquire rubber for ship
  • Win 10 battle with X nation to raise national pride to get sailor navy men

Maybe our clan in game can be like little country and can merge dock yard with navy base to make it seem like we fighting for something. for nation pride or such.

Ban it to the Research Bureau!

Actually coal would be more preferable.

I played as hard and as long as I could every day to build that ship.  pft....  I only got a little past 2/3 way...  ya it was sort of out of reach unless you pay.  ik they need money to keep the game going but dam all that work for nothing...  it was cool to see how a ship is sort of made.. I assume its kinda how they build one.

You know, if WG wasn't complete morons they would find a way to say "Complete now" and they would prolly makes thousdands of dollars on people who are 70-80% there and would spend a few thousand doubloons each to finish it.

They did.

For 25,000 doubloons.   I am talking about a % of what you completed.

If they did do such a thing, then advertising fails because I saw nothing about it and I play daily.

Again, they did.  The further you got in completing the ship, the cheaper the "complete it now" button got.  It was in the dock yard and it was the topic of this forum for many weeks.

If I recall, you had to get 80% or closer for the price reduction to begin.

I suspect we will have another event, but they won't do the progression like they did with PR. The dockyard was very well received, it was the progression that was infuriating people.

Actually, it started at 35K once you got far enough to activate the 'buy me now' button.  25K is part of the way, but even at 99%, it still said 15K.

we will absolutely have another ship building event look at how many oblivious whales forked out nearly $300 for a nerfed alaska, despite infuriating the majority of the playerbase the 1% of whales will still fund them

Never.  It's too cool to be used.

Seriously, the amount of work that goes into a dockyard sequence must be staggering.  I recommend that you spend some time with PR while you still have the pretty pictures.

It's very much how they built one.  Construction techniques are very different today.
