Now 1st of I am by no means an expert, but to me it seems people on operations anymore have no idea whats going on. For example Narai by fr my favorite Op, or used to be. Since my 1st run, brought in a gneis went for transports, oopsie. I've since learned a tried method that works. 1 cruiser goes after transports south, maybe a BB takes out turret south, that helps,(also there is an achievement available for taking out transport, I can count on 1 hand how many times I've seen that happen), 1 cruiser goes after the Lex maybe 2(1 to keep the dd and cl busy while other works cv). The rest especially BBs escort troop carriers so when you get into the harbor you have firepower to start taking stuff  out. However the last 30 so runs on Narai its half the fleet chases transports south all the BBs for some reason have to go for the Lex and most times I'm hung out to dry in the harbor. Now there are times get 5 stars and I know a victory a victory, but when your going "how in the world did we pull that off" most of the runs, there is a problem. Now to back to the question is it only me that sees this and completely bugged by this. I mean why are other Ops ran by methods that work and for most part people run it that way, and this Op, it's like brains shut down.

My favorite is the cruiser, or better yet, the BB that takes off at the start of the match for the NE corner where the CV ends up. They have one thing in mind...I’m gonna sink that CV!

In the end, either someone else gets the CV or they get taken out. Priceless...

Kinda like the transports going on the attack. Makes zero sense scenario wise but at least it’s different.

Communication can sometimes work. Sometimes. Before the OP starts, chat out something like: BBs please stay with the convoy. Who is taking transports and who is taking CV, one ship only for each please. You can also ask that no one else fire on transports. There is an achievement for doing it solo.

Sometimes this works. Sometimes not.

It is "random" the mix of ships going in to play a scenario operation.

Players bring what they've got.  Sometimes it is an "ideal ship" from their port.  Sometimes it is all they've got, whatever it is at that tier.  Sometimes it is a ship & captain they're playing to earn experience points with and get trained-up.

Narai:
One fast battleship or cruiser with torpedoes and one other ship as backup to sink the CV.
One DD or cruiser to sink the transports.
Everything else to escort the cargo ships safely to the Landing Zone, in my opinion.

Your nautical mileage may vary.  :-)

this is pugs in a 5 star win.

I thought that the Official Operations channel had players that know the scenario, it isn't that much better than a random draw. We can do Narai with 4 ships, yet it's hard to carry even a 7 man team of pugs sometimes. Now you have to add in the fact that the transports GPS broke down or that they are having delusions of grandeur and they think they are a BB instead of a lowly troop transport.

There are a lot of bad players that play the scenarios. They have no concept of strategy, reading a map or understanding what their ship class is required to do for a successful operation.

So they will run off in a BB to kill that CV and get one star for the team while leading to the loss of at least two stars or an outright failure because the escort ships and transport now have no protection from a ship that can tank damage.

Seen this happen on Raptor Rescue as well.

Moral of the story is there are a lot of bad players so what used to be easy 5* ops are now adventures.

Ah, much cleaner... FiFY OP...

As for the context of you post, I disagree... I been playing this scenario all week and no I have not encountered your frustrations.

I have seen cruisers breaking protocol and not communicating their intentions from the beginning...OR BB out of positions.

Other then that, nothing out of the ordinary

Simple solution... go to the Operations channel. The chat is full of experienced players who will let you join their div.

I regularly have 10 ops with 9 wins, and most with 5 stars thanks to experienced team mates !

Try a random team and all bets are off :)

best bote for narai is    scharnhorst for random team.  you really need to be able to do   everything including killing missouri and the ranger if you are playing in random team.    I am quite amazed that most can't even break 1k xp in narai even with 5 star win.

I've done that. 2 cruisers steam out to the northeast corner and I torp the carrier and kill the phoenix with my destroyer ;)
