Quite right, we've heard enough about CVs already.

Seriously though, I do agree with you but this isn't going to help.

Its not the ship class, its the game that created the class...

I say the community has every right to complain... So let their voices be heard.

Glad to see this is still a thing.

I save mine mostly to compliment good teammates though.

It is still an improper use of the karma system and it also shows how much of a joke it is.

In my one game today...i got complimented for being in a Ryujo...

...surprised the heck out of me. I didnt carry my tier 8s and we lost.

Maybe it was the other team?

Honestly, who knows why reports and compliments happen...

I agree 100%. Of course, the players that engage in this type of activity are unlikely to be convinced by anything you or anyone else says.

Karma means nothing. Them reporting you and you losing Karma means nothing. If you getting reported helps this person feel like he has a bigger set of online computer generated balls well then that mean eveything...LOL!!!!

maybe the wargaming people should start tracking these reports, cause it does mean something when you report another player to that player. so start banning for false reporting perhaps that way they stop browbeating cv players for just wanting to play.

not true, no one uses plays poorly, they use misbehave in chat, because that actually can lead to being chat banned. The others are meaningless.

Highly subjective. Plays poorly means different things to different people.

But thanks for reminding me, I sometimes forget to report the cv players.

Maybe you don’t get reported for playing the CV.  Maybe your karma is going down for how you are playing it...

I played my share of CV games, and it increased my karma...

I've been complimenting my team's CV when they help spot when badly needed (DD flanking the BBs for example).

But the reason people do that is because the cv-surface ship interaction is bad from the surface ship's perspective.

Being repeatedly attacked, with no ability to defend yourself or fight back and do damage makes the surface ship player feel abused.

Moreover, some CVs are extra abusive in the way they play, being in a Kaga and repeatedly targeting a t6 BB for example to farm damage when focusing the t8 ships would probably help their team more.

It's making people feel abused that causes people to report because they feel they have no other outlet.

Still, the CV players didn't create this bad interaction, so they shouldn't receive the bulk of the blame.

1. The karma system, positive or negative, is a joke.

2. You SHOULD feel bad for queuing up in a carrier.

Separate things. Reports and Compliments are separate totals.

Not entirely true.

The only ‘meaning’ to your actual karma level is in how many Compliments and Reports you have to give out each day. (Up to a maximum of eleven each, if I understood what I was told about the matter correctly.)

Outside that? Yeah, basically meaningless.

Doubt that will ever happen, since the definition of ‘false report’ vis-a-vis a negative karma hit is too subjective.

Unfortunately, even though I am an old carrier player, (4,100-ish games in RTS,) and hundreds more under the new system, you will get little sympathy from me.

Don’t like getting reported for driving carriers? Then either play them only in Co-op and Ops, or don’t play them at all.

The one really at fault here is WG itself. Whatever excuses they may try to cite to justify the rework, the results are a toxic mess that’s going into its second year now.

Report them for existing? Not so much.

Report them for being a scummy vulture? More likely to happen.

Can confirm.

T8 Brit in Tears of the Cruisers, T10 game.

Spent most of the game spotting, with the odd strike here or there; got a compliment.

It happens, just not very often.

I got multiple compliments in recent random game on GZ, I was the last ship left on the team.  Took on one cruiser in secondary range, was real fun.

Hmm, no, if the player wants to play a cowards game, then hate the player too.

If getting reported for playing CV actually bothers you there is only one effective solution and it isn't making a forum topic that won't be seen by most or any of the people reporting you and would be disregarded by them if they happened to read it anyway.
