What's with Narai tonight?

3 wins in 6 tries, a 2, 3 & 4 star win and 3 defeats is bad even for pug teams. Narai is one of the easiest ops to win.

Is everybody out to get citadels and they loose focus on winning the battle? Or is it something else? Yes, every one has a bad game. The Missouri can get a direct hit and cause a lot of damage or even sink any cruiser.

But 2 cruisers & a BB chasing down the transports, everyone hiding behind the ships we need to protect or other less than intelligent play, are we just having a bad night?

I think I'll take a short break.

All 5 star wins so far, roll overs mostly. I did have to take transports in the Scharney to save the 5 star one game, in another I got deleted by the Missouri like ya said. We still 5 stared it. For me it seems that some teams are doing 4 man Narai and picking up 3 pubes. Lots of 4 man divs.

You get better teams if you use the Public Operations channel in game and even better teams if you go with the Hoperations guys on discord.

Even then, I'd like a dollar every time I ask BB's to move up and stop using liberty ships for cover.  Then there are cruisers that forget that transports and CV's need to die or people rushing into the base early in general.  Oh yeah, then they forget that the Farragut and Omaha have torps and focus the fort.  Hurts my brain :D

It’s been bad for me as well, 2 losses in 5 attempts.  Both featured cruisers dying to the first spawns and BBs cruising down the A line then barely killing the CV.

Still have the lead transport sometimes deciding not to dock as well.

Just did the first of the night, 5 starred easily.  Only lost 2 ships, one of which was my Atlanta when I pushed too far up to meet the last wave, not that it really mattered after I got rid of the other Atlanta.

The only issue tonight mainly, those supply ships not stopping in their designated port stops...

Twice I had those supply AIs go past their port stop and continuing on (with no end)...

Other then that, few teams not communicating assignments from the start... Other then what I noted... Nothing out of the ordinary.

Narai is easy if people cooperate with each other.

BUT, to many players go off and do their own thing with out regard for what is needed to get 5 star or other players.

Narai is most fun running only with 4 or 5 man teams and everybody gets 1700xp base or more, but there is none of the BBs doing transports or CV kind of shenanigans.  Everybody has a role and they do it.

last night  I've been averaging over 200k dmg in narai and  2 of the match was less than 5 star.  (good for finishing up one of the arp bote)  as mentioned in another thread, teams are getting worse  lol.   my best team had 3 DD and they did well.

I did the transports just fine in a Scharn plus it had enough speed to get into port in time to nuke all the reds. 2 Atlanta's on the team dud help greatly, though...

I think that was just the combination of bad luck and pube players.

For me it's hard to balance. My ideal team is six players who are not total idiots but are also not very good. That way I can farm better. With seven people from Hoperations, obviously we win 100% of the time with 5 stars, often in as little as 12 minutes, but the farming is super competitive.

I have only failed in Narai in a pub group a couple times, though, and it was always a perfect storm of multiple problems - dumb teammates, running a short five-man division, somebody gets randomly blapped by Wyoming or Missouri early, the transports YOLO, and so forth. Any one or two of those things is survivable, but if they all go wrong, you just need to write that attempt off, I guess.

That wasn't my experience. My PUG teams were fine. The only issue I had is one of the transports is bugged and it just sails off and does its own thing. Did that in every round I played.

LOL to me so far this weeks operations is following along the line of last weeks Killer Whale and the week before (which was just awful).

Its a crap shoot as some games your with a TEAM that "GOT GUD" then a few you just scratch your head and go WOW.

My division mate and I had very good luck with random teammates last night.  All 5 star wins, all easy peasy.  I usually take in Lazo and run the Northern Route strategy on my way to deal with the CV and her escorts.  My division mate will saddle up the Atlanta or the Flint and take out the transports.  We call it out at the start so all the rest of the team has to do is keep the convoy safe.  He will sometimes go with Sinop and lead the escort efforts.

We rarely come up short.  Narai is money in the bank.  :cap_like:

I take that back.

3rd game, potato team, a cruiser and a DD went after the carrier and they both got sunk, while I was off killing the transports the rest of my team got sunk before I made it back into the base. Did massive damage, still made a lot of cash, but annoying to get wiped.

Played 4 games last night and the first was a loss, 2nd was 3 and the others 5..

First game it came down to me in a Scharn , lower health in the repair circle and a italian cruiser, think it was a Zara, over where the Atlanta's usually sit on the right..  Last 2 ships QE and CO and i made a poor decision.. instead of just sitting where i was i decided to move out to get a better torp angle on the QE.. Mistake, the freaking CO hammered me took almost all my health and of course my heal was 1:30 away.. Nope didn't make it but i did hurt the QE significantly and the cruiser killed it..

However the CO got the Cruiser. game over.  Sad part was i was working on 250K + of damage.. grr.. with the failure of course it amounted to much of nothing.

The ARP missions are making people do stupid things would be my guess, but even that doesn't explain the lemming-training after the transports.

It should be easy, like Killer Whale should be routine farming, but there are also so many ways for an inexperienced or unfocused pubbie team to screw it up that it isn't funny.

I tend to run Narai in Gneisenau, Scharnhorst, and Scharnhorst B.

At every start, I ask "Who has CV?  Who has transports?  One each."

I can kinda tell how the run is going to go depending on who responds and how.

I do go with the good folks at Hoperation from time to time. They're a great group & I've learned a lot from them. Last night I was running pugs. While 5 stars with pugs is not often, I still win about 65% or better.

I like it when someone asks those questions right away.  It shows that there is an experienced skipper leading the convoy escort duties.

I will take out the CV.  My division mate will take out the transports.  Let's meet in the bay and farm some damage!  :cap_like:

One problem with the time given to win the top prize the causal player must take risk and focus on the required achievements, hoping to get them ASAP.

Running with the bulls from the Hoperations group is very satisfying.  They are "by the numbers" and devastatingly effective.  All you have to worry about is doing your job.  It's great!

Was fairly lucky with the team rng last night. A 3, two 4 and two 5 stars. And one horribly wrong fail. DoY and KGV both ran after the transports. The Fiji that went after the CV died, CV lived. Seems like all the reinforcements showed up at once and the few of us in the base along with all the transports died. The reds were even motoring OUT of the base. The two BBs, on low health, showed up and died. Oh well.
