I'm sorry, you're right... I couldn't help myself.

I did do a quick internet search and couldn't find it anywhere else than that site.  I'd guess if it were true there would be more available info on it.  Kinda looks like click bait.  Who knows, maybe by tomorrow it'll be bigger news or WG will post something on it.

I mean it wouldn't blow my mind. Companies donate money, especially for these high profile items, Good for PR and taxes. However, I think there would be official information about it if it were true, WeeGee would make sure everyone knew lol

WG is actually highly charitable w/out advertising it...every premium sold results in donations to the vets & families of vets from the country the premium ship is from...& it has been that way since the beginning (thus a lot of RU premiums...they do look after their own but also donate to all countries represented by premium ships in the game).

Not sure about tanks & planes (but assume so also) but for ships I'm aware this is a thing.

It was even recently hinted at in the video (forget which country right off the top of my head) for a new nation that will be seeing ships in the game soon(tm).

If WG manages to cure diarrhea.

Then they are okay in my book.

Joking aside, many companies do this as a way of helping people in need.

In this case, battling a viral outbreak is quite a noble cause.

I guess we all seldom realize everything that goes on in the world were it not for this technological age.

Steve Jobs was actually very generous in helping people, he just did so quietly. That’s what’s crazy about people judging people with money too hastily and too harshly is because there are good things that can happen, but not if nobody had enough money and resources to reach out to those in need. Now granted there is good and bad that can be done by those that have a lot of money, but it’s not all bad.

Considering how much money the make from their 3 main "WORLD" games from China,  this is a drop in the ocean...

But,

It also is a very noble and kind action that the world should follow.

After all,  keeping it in China and fighting it in China benefits the Whole world.

Well, they're nicer than me, I would have spent any leftovers myself, or given out employee bonuses.

It's not the charity work or not that garnered criticism for Jobs.

Quote

The name coronavirus comes from the Latin word corona, meaning crown or halo. Under an electron microscope, the image of the virus is reminiscent of a solar corona.

This is one of many solid charitable needs that Wargaming contributes to, and a very important one to help get this virus under control.

Good on WG for being solid corporate citizens.

I guess WG is making a lot more money than I thought.  Regardless, US$10 million is a significant chunk of money. My esteem for the company has just grown many times.

Thats good, it may take a lot more to fix the mess the rework has created.

Probably, but that is one way that humans cope with tragedy - unlike my Mother, who finds something to worry about all the time.  She was worried because I took a trip to California a week before the news broke.  She was so relieved that it wasn't last week like she thought - I didn't have the heart to tell her that the first US case was here in Seattle.....

but thank you to WG for the donation - every little bit is going to help.

Yes, almost any parent will worry for their kids. Our kids are adults and we worry. They are about to take a Caribbean cruise and we're going to see them the day before they leave.

A big yes to WG being philanthropists and helping during the Corona virus epidemic. It is very generous, honourable, and humanitarian of them. Or as is the common vernacular locally, "That's mighty neighborly of them"

let put this in a way you can understand. Skorpion G is the most sold premium tank on all 3 servers(NA, EU and RU server) at 1.8 million sold combine(not counting asia server)

Each tank sold around 50$ price tag. So 50 x 1,800,000 come around 90 million dollars. And that is just for 1 tank. And let not forget Wows is selling 80$ ships :cat_cool:
