Played a lot of co-op with some randoms in between. Set a new personal damage record (250K or so) in the Jean Bart in co-op.

Unlocked the Hawkins, and thanks to a bit of well-timed downtime compensation was able to pick her up earlier than I'd expected to.

Found myself with more free time than I expected on Sunday, and got the Ryujo --> Shokaku grind finished.

Chipped away a little bit at the Yamamoto missions.

Overall a productive weekend.

  • Cool 1
  • Boring 2

I was able to finish the first directive on Sunday, and with the 80 tokens, unlocked the Hawkins also.  Only did one battle with her in co-op; but looking forward to playing her more this week.

Played more randoms than usual over the weekend. I've had a run of good luck, my win rate is 58% for this month. I got the necessary 5 directives of the 1st set completed last Thursday so I was able to work on other things over the weekend.

I picked up the Buffalo this weekend. The Hawkins was in my 1st bundle. I haven't drove either of these ships to comment on them.

The down time compensation was a nice gesture, thanks WG.

I'm getting closer to having Halsey as a commander.

A few days rest from grinding is welcomed as the game was less stressful & more enjoyable.

I find both of them fun and challenging to play. The showing of too much side to the wrong enemy ship will result in a massive diminution of your health and/or a quick trip back to port.

I had a great random battle in my Georgia this weekend. Overall 250k damage and 410 sec hits.
Sadly still lost the game because our CV decided because he was in a GZ and bottom tier to suicide at the start...

Naval battles and clan battle training. Played some randoms with clan mates and a few co-ops. High tier game play seems even more and more passive with a high percent chance of lemming trains in the forecast.

Collected all available tokens so far, no cruiser unlocks but still plenty of time left.

Nice weekend, relaxed play. Several Aegis runs with pub teams and three worst was 4*.

No Hawkins yet, but it now sits in my next bundle. Just have to collect another 20 tokens.

Like the Buff more than my Des Memes.

Played COOP.  I have what 7 token bundles and no ships.   I don't grind anymore because there is nothing to "grind for", kinda a meh weekend.  Went to a shooting competition with a historian, who is almost done with a book and mentored him through the calibers of the Old West.  He seriously didn't like to shoot that short Browning in 405 Winchester though !   Teddy was giggling from the great beyond......... (some of you may understand that.....)

Anyway, Directive two today I guess.  It's about as exciting as watching ice melt........

Keep the updates coming because there is always something in them someone will miss !

No, the other Buff.

I thought you were talking about the four legged Buff that historian is writing about !  Heck, the 405 is our go to backup caliber since we guide hunts !!!  It would put down Posleen as well........!

Read "Flight of the Old Dog" if you like the flying Buff.....

Quick research into what a Posleen is tells me that I would rather eat the buffalo.  :Smile_izmena:

I devoured Dale Brown's books when I was in middle school. Fun stuff. Later on he goes full Tom Clancy and they get worse.

John Ringo is one of those authors like Steven King to me. Some fantastically fun writing, some goofy and borderline-to-outright-offensive things that make you wonder about their sexual hangups, and a total willingness to go full partisan politicking, albeit on opposite sides.

Never read any John Ringo (well, a couple of things, but they're playing about in someone else's universe). King definitely has issues, but from what my wife tells me, Piers Anthony is the true king of creepy projection in that regard.

The Posleen War series is fairly benign in that sense, but I actually read just one of his Kildar series and stopped, they're pornographic and extremely offensive.

His Troy Rising series is really fantastic SF, though.

Your wife may be right about Piers Anthony, I swear a lot of the golden age SF/fantasy authors seem to have weird kinks they wanted to work out in their writing. Robert Heinlein was like that, too, and so was Arthur C. Clarke.

And of course Gene Roddenberry has a strange fixation with alien sex, too, which has always led to some really campy groaners in Star Trek...

Ringo has written some very good series....    I've invited him to hunt Posleen but, he's too busy it seems over the years.....  I have all sorts of pictures of Posleen and Posleen hunting but, they might offend some on this site.....

Stephen and his wife Tabatha are serious donors to the University of Maine and, their house was a kid favorite for Halloween activities.....  And yes, he is "a bit out there" but, is one of the best Fiction "openers" there is....  He can't finish a story worth a crap but, he sure can "get you immersed" pretty darn quick.    Ringo is just about as good and, he seems to be able to finish a story pretty well.....  And, if he doesn't finish the "Prince Roger" series, well, he'll get disowned.

I could arrange that; international laws permitting.  Although, we hunt a hundred + years behind technology.....  The old fashion way;........which helps archeologists that write Books how to figure out what is true and what is outright fiction (weird hobbies help sometimes) from that era.    A lot of data from that era are dine store facts.

And, they talk about the endless sky on the Steppes to the Kingdom of the Summer Lands......  Buff ain't bad: just a tad and fair amount of actual hard work and, if you are stupid, a might Darwinian to take on.  In the picture, we are danger close.....  They can run 30+ mph and weigh well over 600 (female)/800 (male) pounds.

We talk about a hundred years ago, and when I was a kid (and certainly when you were) that was quite a while... but a hundred years ago today puts us at the dawn of air combat, the apogee of the steel warship, and the ultimate expression of land warfare (artillery, machine guns and chemical warfare all in the same package, on a battlefield populated pretty much exclusively by the opposing militaries). The cartridge-fed, breech-loading repeating firearm is the norm. You have to go back a hundred and FIFTY years for it to be close to otherwise, and even Napoleon is TWO CENTURIES in the past.

Nice weekend and pretty chill as I'm taking the winter off after being incommunicado most all of Dec.  I get directives done quickly...RN T5-7 light fires, French DD's T5-6 citadel all day which led me to start my Kleber grind this weekend starting with T6 Guepard.  Man, I miss smoke, but it will make my Russian DD grind ( currently stuck at T7 ) a true breeze.

Been lucky w/ RN CA campaign and have thru Surrey T7 and I can't see any of them becoming a fan favorite so far.
