So I was playing Indom earlier when I suddenly had a string of matches.

In these games, I decided because..why not for the first one, I'd go after the enemy CVs with my Indom's bombers.  First match was a Ranger and Shokaku on the enemy team. In that game, I ended up murdering both CVs single handed on the enemy team in some 8 minutes.  Second game after that, I repeated this against 2 shokakus.  After that game, A lexington would be my fifth kill today.  I would post the replays but I am having some kind of crash dump so I am a little hazy on which replays were which today.  I played some 20 matches so I need to fix the Dump before I can figure out which replays to share.

Anyway, I bring this up a I think the Indom has finally found a new alternate value for it's aircraft.  I was able to attack other CVs with zero losses most of the time, or just 1.

What do you guys think? Good to have a CV sniper around again? Bad?  I will post the replays once the crashing issue can be resolved.

Yeah, carpet bombers are deadly against unarmored flight decks

So if course it's not very good against armored ones like the implacable and indomitable.

But spending that much time for a single target when you could be going for something like a DD is kinda meh

I can see murdering T6 CVs but I'd like to see what build and tactics work to allow for multiple attacks with "maybe 1 loss" on a T8 CV.

The Indom's carpet bombers have a sweet spot at 6 km. The spread of bombs can be very neatly arrayed onto the flight deck of any cv, though it does not work against RN cv.  This has resulted in me getting 10k, 13k, and 17k once as damage, and t6 cv's are citadel vulnerable to Indom.

Every ship has its ups and downs.  Indom has CV sniping as a strength should the CV have no AA near/in front of it to cause bomber losses over time.

Excellent. I'll try and feedback. To hit enemy carrier, you need, 1/ non RN carriers with unarmored decks, 2/ fast planes, 3/ strong planes, Indomitable vs non Royal Navy except Hakuryu and Midway (makes sense TVIII can't sink TX). I think Indomitable is an experimental ship. We should see new CV tech trees, and why not CVs that are specialized in targeting other CVs but less lethal to the other types.

I would love to see a CV with great torps and bombs but no rockets, anti BB and CA. Currently, the ones we have are not specialists, they can hit any target.

Yeah, pretty much this.

Ultimately, a CV focused on sniping another CV doesn't win the game.    Its the equivalent of a CV perma focusing on any other ship -  not helpful.

Its not really the purpose to talk specific pvp situations.  I bring it up because Indom seems unique suited to a interesting role.  Plus it only takes a few minutes by and large to perform this hunt.  Though you definitely can argue it is a ineffective use of time.
