Heyo Everyone.

As you may have heard, this December 19th, the various WoWS offices around the world are working together to host a 24 hour stream to raise funds for the Save the Children foundation. This is a great opportunity for the staff and player base to come together and give back to the world during the holiday season. The full article on the event can be found here.

For this initiative, we will be using the platform to gather your donations. Since many of you may not be familiar with this platform and how it works here is a short guide:

First: Decide if you want to donate:

All money will go directly to the Save the Children foundation and does not pass through Wargaming or World of Warships in any capacity. This should be your primary motivation for donating, to support this cause.

Second: Cool, you decided to donate, you head to this page

image.png

Here you can put in your information on what you would like your donation to be, your username and comment if you want.

Third: Select your reward:

  • If your selected reward is higher than the amount you opted to donate, it will be increased to the selected amount.
  • Some items are locked until later stages of the stream to allow different regions a chance to receive the reward.
  • If you are not interested in a reward, you can skip this step at the bottom of the list.
  • Once the available quantity of items is redeemed, the reward will no longer be available.
  • Your transaction will not proceed if the item is not available/sold out before you complete your transaction.
  • The people who are quick and successfully claim the reward will 100% receive the selected reward - it is not a raffle.
  • Rewards are not instantly granted, after the stream staff will process prizes if there are any issues or further information required an email will be sent to you.
  • The cost of shipping all physical goods will be covered by WG as our contribution to the cause.

Four: Complete the transaction:

and proceed to have tingly good feelings about your donation. If there is any additional details needed from you the team will contact you after the stream.

Tiltify is a leading charity donation platform for streamers and is not in any way affiliated with Wargaming or World of Warships. Given this platform is wildy trusted and respected by the streaming industry, we thought this would be the perfect platform to use for this initiative as it has clear visibility for you guys.

We wanted to give back to a cause greater than us and we felt Save the Children was a great cause for this.

In regards to the available prizes, in terms of physical items, the majority of these are leftover from particular events so we only have limited quantities available. We also do need to be mindful of shipping costs as this can quickly grow to large amounts particularly since we are offering to ship worldwide.

The stream will feature many CCs, activities, games, fun, and maybe some announcements. Even if you are not in a position to donate to the cause, stop by and celebrate with us as the stream will be a lot of fun!

Thanks, Fem.

This is a very worthy cause. StC is a long-established and well-respected charity doing good things.

@Femennenly You might want to pin this post. If not, me and some other will "bump" it to keep it on the front burner.

Happy holidays!

They ought to auction off some of the rare ships.

That would bring in lots more money to the charity.

@Femennenly

I think it is a great cause and will donate, but a quick question on behalf of those with a chunk of money:

What happens if you donate $200 to try and get the Belast - it seems if you're quick enough great, the charity and the person donating wins!

But if not fast enough the person loses out, is disappointed and the charity could also lose out.

I really think it is great what WG are doing, but wonder, by limiting the items (or at least the digital ones) if they're harming the amount they could raise? :Smile_honoring:

Maybe if WoWs refunds all the money players now regret spending on the Puerto Rico debacle they will feel like donating it to the charity event, instead of just donating it to WoWs.

this is excellent info, but I think the pin broke! Needs something stickier to stop it slipping.

Take me out of the puerto rico scam, retract the "rewards" from it back out of my account, donate the cash equivalent to the 24000 doubloons I spent that as a new player will be impossible to make use of, and I will donate the additional required amount for a Missouri.  If you really cared, that is a good guaranteed deal and donation.

A good and worthy cause to be sure, ones' personal opinion of Wargaming notwithstanding.

Over on EU today, PrivatePinguin, Flamu, and Jingles are divisioning together in a "streamathon" charity event as well.

Looks like you can't pick a reward until it's unlocked so you have to wait until then to donate, if you want to be eligable?

Good Cause, although at this moment I have other financial burdens to attend to.

It would seem given how this charity is being handled, WG at least isn't tone deaf enough to not understand their word is in question, so a proxy in the handling of money is used to legitimize said charity.

If we put a space after the username and before the server region will we still get the flag? I only noticed afterwards that it said to do it exactly like that.

For instance, I wrote "ExecutiveToasterOven, NA" but was I supposed to write it without a space (i.e. "ExecutiveToasterOven,NA")? And if so how long does it take for the flags to be credited (I assume after stream like other in-game items)?

Here's an example, but beyond these, Fujin, Kami, Musashi and others.

Go to Donate, Fill out the form, hit next and then scroll through the offerings.

Thank you for answering and your help.
But I still do not understand.. No where does it say this is a auction. Fem early in the posting said this is not a raffle. I understand it to be what you are calling offerings are rewards that you chose after you make your donation. Fem also said  "The people who are quick and successfully claim the reward will 100% receive the selected reward - it is not a raffle."  So to me and please corrected me if I'm wrong they are 2 Missouri rewards to give out. The first 2 people that donate $200.00 would receive them if they want one and this making the Missouri no long available to anyone.  I do plan on giving I just don't know how much and depends on my budget once I get my Christmas shopping done :).  I'm just trying to figure out the system in case I decide to take advantage of the nice rewards it if I can.

Thank you

If the missouri is claimed, then no one else will be able to redeem it.

This is correct

Love the idea for this, just wish the limits were less tight or not present to encourage even more donations

Yeah, I'm kinda with you there. I just hope the PR kerfluffle doesn't taint people's generosity when it comes to a totally unrelated good cause.

Merry Christmas!
