Hon hon hon hon~

I must say, I'm not much of a destroyer captain, but there are two ships of the class that I absolutely cannot get enough of; HMCS Haida, for being a complete bully... and Friesland, for being as much of, if not more, of a bully~!

I can't recommend this ship enough if you think you can tame her quirks and mannerisms! Buying her outright from the premium shop isn't for everyone, but she's well worth working towards if you have the Free XP to burn

More than pretty much any ship in the game I've faced, Friesland is polarizing. A well played Friesland will murder all yours or the red team's DD's faster than any other ship aside from old school unicum RTS IJN CV's while OTOH I've had more than a few games (in the Cleveland, especially) where the boat is the Freekilland.

Man, I can barely speak my own native languages, and you want me to learn this mess? It sounds like a drunk German poet playing madlibs!    XD
Besides, we already have Lert, the best Dutch waifu!

Chobi is @Chobittsu the guy who drew the pic of Mouse.

This is generally unnecessary -- everything tends to be dead in less time short of when you're actually running down a carrier and they're fast-cycling planes.

FYI shouldn't this be their? But great read as usual.

When they (the carriers) are fast-cycling planes -> they're.

Either works though.

Yikes, that's my lack of English skills showing. My bad then.

Thank you -- Lert has the right of it, but I made a change so it's more clear by killing the sloppy contraction.  There's been a couple of embarrassing typos (thank you all for spotting them).  I also had to re-upload all of the graphics to imgur (ShipComrade's hosting seems a bit sketch at times).

Fun Friesland Review Facts

  • When I started doing reviews, most of these articles had 5 or 6 images.  This review has 34.
  • Yesterday, I was "almost finished" with a couple of graphics to do, the conclusion to rewrite (accounting for the Swedish announcement) and editing.  Between today and yesterday, I put in 28 hours "just finishing".  Efficient, I am not.
  • I started work on this review back in September.  This is the third version.
  • I had to cut out two animations similar to the one I did at the end of the Haida review.  It was taking too long.  The Jojo punching and flamethrowers are the closest approximations I could steal from the web.

Damn, last time I was this early for one of Mouse's reviews, Star Wars was still producing quality content. Over all, nice review @LittleWhiteMouse, not really my size of wooden shoe, but I've heard good things about it and wish we'd see more ships like it. Unique without being gimmicky. May the blood god bless your efforts as you reap skulls in his name.

Well you could've just summed up Friesland with one "word" (for certain definitions of word) and left it at that:

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!

This review is great fun, almost as fun as playing Friesland herself is! When she came out for free XP I know I just HAD to get her ASAP. And so I did. I was not disappointed. Atlanta is the sub-machinegun. Worcester is the M2 .50 caliber. Friesland? Friesland is a friggin' Uzi with a hatred for planes. Friesland is the dakka-bote concept going "all-out, sensei" to the point where it forgot what class it was playing and left port without torpedoes.

I love this ship so much, thank you Lert for helping bring this glorious destroyer into the World of Warships!

I've done well on the Friesland but it's not a comfortable ship. It's more of a support CL than dd truth be told. You need to pick your fights. It's not like a Neustrashimy where you can go aggressive, disengage, heal up and repeat.

Oh Chobitsu, great job on the ship art!

Another good point of the Friesland is economics. First, she has a T9 premium's earnings and a toolkit that's good at hunting DDs and racking up high damage totals. But on top of that, destroyers have very low ammo costs per game, and she can't spend any extra(or accidentally waste any extra) on torpedoes.

All of that combined makes her very profitable, in both co-op and randoms.
