If your side wins by mercy rule, then everyone on your side should automatically be awarded a completion for Naval Battles, regardless of why type of threshold needs to be met.

It's silly that our team wins by Mercy Rule, so there are 6+ enemy ships, but you can't damage them because the match ends via Mercy Rule. Dominate play shouldn't be penalized for Naval Battles.

Git less gudder.

Seriously, is naval battles that big of a deal? How much oil would one threshold actually net you?

If you are kicking in the mercy rule with 6 ships remaining on the bot side....that's pretty impressive (not even sure that is possible).

Naval battles give you a star for reaching a certain base xp. After the first stage, this base xp is 900 or higher which is rare to achieve in coop.

Why should you get a free naval battle star simply for showing up in coop, when you clearly aren't meant to do naval battles in coop in the first place (otherwise the requirements would be something easier to do in coop)?

OP didn't mention coop, but if you get 900 bxp in coop, the mercy rule was never going to come in to play.

You mean Naval Battles where you get a star for making a certain base XP?

Adding a mercy rule exception is silly. Just make Naval Battles damage based and everything is good.

I'm not talking about COOP, regular random battle.

If the other side hits 0 points, the match ends, and obviously, you can't do damage to ships when the match is over.

So, when the mercy rule kicks in because the other side hits 0 points, you lose the ability to meet the criteria for the star for Naval Battles. No, it's not a HUGE issue, but it's still an issue. Players shouldn't be penalized by winning via the mercy rule.

I'm unsure why so many think this has something to do with COOP, have that many players never won or lost in Random via one side hitting 0 points? It's not frequent, but it's not that rare either.

Because there is a very vocal group that wants the mercy rule removed in co-op. I think the rule is fine.

As for randoms, it's the same for them. If the team hits 0 and you have not got your base XP number, you have to try again. This is why I think damage is a better number. Because if you lose in random, your base XP is not boosted. But damage would not matter.
