The benefits of 16 ships per side are as follow

  • 4 ships per side you can create more competitive game play
  • Players can create larger groups which can help in more offensive play
  • You have more support ships which can help teams create enough cover fire for a push
  • You have more ships per team that can do flanking and force enemy ships to change position
  • A team with 16 ships has a better chance of overcoming a bot/afk/mia ship than a team of 12 ships and with 2 CVS

  • Finally games need to be cut back from 20 minutes to 18 minutes.
  • This will force teams to push sooner rather than later.
  • Honestly if WG reduced it to 16 minutes it would be fine. Id rather have 16 minutes of intense game play rather than 20 minutes of waiting.
  • Finally WG could than slowly start to introduce slightly smaller maps for Tier 8-10 to create a more intense game where the action starts sooner rather than later.

I think if subs are added into randoms, there should be more ships in a battle, but I don't think that reducing the timer would force the average potato to push, instead it would just make more matches being decided by the timer

Maybe they should have the green DD spawn behind the red side with torps already loaded

WOWS stated that there would be too much load on the servers to increase the size of teams.  I think it was in one of the last two Developers Diaries.  There are a LOT of calculations performed for each shell's actions/activity.

16 ships per side in Random or Co-op?

If you're waiting 20 minutes, it is because you were sunk in the first minute.  Level-up your game play and last longer, eh?
Or, just exit the game and join another game with a different ship.
Really, the only problem here is your unmet expectation(s).

Small maps are like playing paintball in a closet, in my opinion.  :-/

Completely backwards on all counts. Increasing the number of ships makes it harder to push because there are fewer gaps in the enemy's defense, including the flanks. You want to make the game into an even huger stalemate? Add 33% more ships to clog up every possible approach and put 33% more focus fire on the poor sucker who gets slightly in front of his allies.

And if you think shortening the game will compel people to push earlier, you're dreaming. 99% of players don't even notice the timer until it starts making ticking noises in the last 10 seconds. All it would do is make caps worth less, because they would contribute 2-4 minutes' fewer points.

Actually there should be at least 24 per side and they should spawn randomly in one to four groups each in Task Force formation. No shotgun scattering like roaches. The maps should be increased from 10 x 10 to at least 12 x 12 and maxed at 16 x 16. The timer should be no less than 30 minutes minimum and 1 hour maximum. Any objectives (capture points) should be located within the first 4 rows or columns of the opponents half of the map.

Shorter games ??? That is Co-op before 0.8.10 goes live...

After that, 12 min games will be the norm... After so much whining about short games, I dont think its going to fly...

20min games is the sweet spot.. Any shorter and we have to redo the maps..

BTW

Didnt you quit the game back in 8.0.5 ago ???
