Speaking of Star Trek, I remember back when I preordered Star Trek Online. Preorder customers got access to the beta test, and a weekend's headstart iirc before official release.

 

Anyway I bought a 1 year subscription. After the game came out I finished all the available content in 3 weeks. Some people reached the initial final content in 1 day.

 

That was my great picard facepalm moment where I learned the expensive way to never buy a 1 year subscription in a pay-to-play MMO.

I'm feeling fortunate that STO is still F2P, and the game is still awesome by the same standards those that paid to play.
