Hi, Shad here. How are you? I am fine.

How about a BB only Random Battle game mode. No DD's, no smoke cowards*, no fun police. Just battleships duking it out the way it should be. HE and AP with the odd secondary getting involved. The only naval aviation that gets involved is spotter planes. No island camping, no wall of skill, no smoke invulnerability cloaks. Just ships fighting other ships with guns. Lordy, what a concept! If only someone would invent a game like that, they'd make a mint.

It is, after all, why I bought this game; to fight ships on reasonably equal terms. For the first two years that's what I did and had fun doing it. Now I may as well stay at work late. I'd be less frustrated when all is said and done.

* - Smoke cowards. Yes I said it. "Players" whose sum total of gaming tactics is to fire up a smoke genny, let others spot for them, then press the fire key and hold it down for two minutes. The skill. The bravado.

Battleships were a part of fleets.
Fleets of Destroyers, Cruisers, Battleships, Aircraft Carriers and Submarines, who all cooperated with friendly land-based air forces and friendly ground forces..

I figure you can set up a BB only game in the training simulator.

Oh wow, Cave man VS Cave man throwing rocks at each other... I already experience this in PTS...

Boring is an understatement!

No thank you, I'll pass.

So that's where BBs are trying to run off to every time I see them ramming the map border.

Stupid smolensk has hunted all the big juicy BBs to the point of near extinction and now all I get to do is knife fight other DDs and try to torp cruisers who can switch hydro to perma deny torps... THEY AINT FAT ENOUGH FOR MY TASTE!!

So bowtanking till each BB reaches the corner of the map? That would make for one epic game mode.

Small Ocean so nobody can go dark, both teams get to the middle, then all BBs start reversing. Winner is the first who reaches the border :cap_win:.

History shows that the crews of "TAFFY 3" were "courageous beyond measure".
Quote:
"... Early on the morning of 25 October 1944, Taffy 3 came face-to-face with a Japanese surface force of 11 destroyers, 2 light and 6 heavy cruisers and 4 battleships (including HIJMS Yamato, the largest battleship in existance),  ..."

USS Samuel B. Roberts
Lieutenant Commander Robert W. Copeland addressed his crew: "This will be a fight against overwhelming odds from which survival cannot be expected. We will do what damage we can."

"...Separated from the bulk of the U.S. fleet, Taffy 3 faced the oncoming Japanese alone. The only support they could expect was the aircraft of Taffy 1 and Taffy 2. Out-ranged and out-gunned, according to Naval historian CE1 Robert A. Germinsky (USNR) "the Jeeps and their accompanying destroyers and destroyer escorts did the only thing they could in the face of such overwhelming odds and firepower - they attacked.  ..."

I think Smol Harugumo Wooster and the likes are made to push BB to exercise their engines more.  That said I will agree to a BB only mode if 1 sub is allowed in each team.  BB doing torp beats could be fun mmuahahha

The Battle off Samar was our Navy at its finest.

if someone says they bought a free to play game, I almost have to question how legitimate their argument is.

Despite what some people are saying, the idea is not bad. A game called Navyfield did something similar had game modes only allowed specific ships. So, the idea is a reasonable one. Would be interesting to see.

Also, my day isn't doing half bad (more or less) thanks for asking ;)

So did people come here from Navyfield because this is better or because they don't want to play Navyfield anymore? You are citing a game that people left as a reason why this idea is reasonable.

I think the only reason why people want BB only games is so they can farm damage and never have to think about how concealment works or worry about incoming fire less than 30 seconds apart. Then again I don't enjoy any single class only mode(including space torp beats and that post apocalyptic thing) so maybe its just me.

It would make for a nice change of pace but it would get boring real quick if it came up too often.
