Well I can't access the Armory or Premium shop in the game menu.  I get a critical error games crash.

I can press exit for the error message and get back to port; though.  I've played one game so far and have had no problems yet playing the game.

I've never had to uninstall the game and reinstall it in all these years of playing, so I'm hoping this is a known issue and is being worked on.

I would advise you to check these point first, they usually help with minor issues:

  • delete modifications if you have any (you may also start game in a "Safe mode", check this with the right edge of "Play" button in WGCenter)
  • "check and repair" client via WGC >> Game Settings (This topic may be helpful with the first two points)
  • add game client to the antivirus exceptions
  • delete your preferences.xml file in the game folder and set everything manually again with the next game launch

Then if nothing helps, you'll need to submit a ticket to our Support (How to) with some notes, WGCheck report and crash files (C:\Games\World_of_Warships_NA\crashes).

OK.  I uninstalled the game.  It's the original install from 3 yrs ago or so.  So I had to install War Game Center.  As I did that Windows Defender

asked to allow access to some Windows 10 functions for WOW or whatever.  So I said OK.  Took a awhile to install and update but it's working fine now.  GC doesn't seem to have any issues either, despite some negative talk on the forums.

If I was more computer savy, I think just telling Windows Defender to allow access to WOW functions would have solved the problem.  But it's OK now, and I now have the WGC repair tool available so I'm fine with it.  And instead of first loading the game with the original WOW icon then pushing play, I now just press the play button so that's better I guess.
