Tier III against 3 CVs equals NO FUN

So, just loaded into a match in my Knyaz Suvarov.

3 CVs on both sides.

I was focused by three CV torpedo bomber squadrons and sunk within 2.5 minutes. I dodged about half the torpedoes and it took about 9 or so to sink me...

I might have shot down 1 aircraft, but I doubt it.

The spreadsheet may say that tier 4 carriers need two torpedoes to take on tier 5 ships.

BUT IT IS ABSOLUTELY BROKEN UNFUN TO FACE THIS IN A TIER 3 SHIP.

Full stop. Period.

I'm a CV main, and I understand why CVs need to have some ability to deal damage against the higher tier ships.

BUT THE LONGER YOU LEAVE TIER 3 SHIPS LITERALLY HELPLESS AGAINST AIRPLANES, THE MORE PEOPLE ARE JUSTIFIED IN DITCHING THIS GAME.

There is no counterplay for planes at tier 3 but the rudder. NO ONE HAS SUFFICIENT AA TO SHOOT DOWN ANY PLANES.

I'm going to take a break from your game.

Meh.  At T3, if you're alone in a BB, I can hunt you down and sink you more easily in a Derzki or a Clemson than I can in a CV.  Going to demand that gets nerfed, too?

EDIT: @Daniel_Allan_Clark, yes, adding some AA to T3 would be a good solution to the issue.  That I could agree with.  Not the solution Tai wants, though.

It was all tier 3 except for the CVs.

If ALL THE TIER 3 SHIPS sailed TOGETHER, they STILL WOULD NOT SHOOT PLANES DOWN.

I know this because I fly Hosho too, Bro.

Tier 3 AA is impotent.

I know how to play BB against DDs.

I've taken on three DDs at the same time in a close quarters duel with my Suvarov and sunk all three. It's not impossible.

Fighting 3 CVs with no AA is impossible. You just hope that you aren't the poor sap they choose first.

I'm asking that tier 3 AA gets a buff...

...or tier 4 CVs get deployable fighters.

Something to help defend the team.

Three and even two CV's in a match that is mostly tier 3 is an issue but how do you propose how to deal with it without screwing other players over?

Actually have AA on tier 3 ships.

or

There are plenty of options to make this fun. Don't make this sound impossible to do.

T3 and T4 games are always min. 2 cv/side. It's a complete garbage meta.

The AA on tier 3 would be laughable at best, MG's and a very few ships with flak. The Konig Albert is an exception and even then it is not that good but I haven't taken mine into a CV match since 8.5 turned AA on its head..

Deployable  fighters are unreliable at bestas they are only useful if the CV's planes are in the right place to use them.

A hard limit of two may be doable as three CV matches are not super common as it is even with tier 4 CV's.

The problem is the seal clubbers with thousands of games who think its fun to jump in their CV's and rack up big damage games against ships that basically cant defend themselves. The ships are not the problems, the players in them are.

Maybe WG should introduce a maximum number of games you are allowed to have played if you want to run T4 CV's.

All the frustrated CV mains are down at T4 with the new damage model. 

Not only do you get 2 cvs most games they are all experienced players.

Makes regrinding low tier DDs real fun.........

No, seal clubbing isnt the problem.

Watch the replay. The guys going against me arent good at dropping torps. I was able to dodge about half of them because of their low skill...in a RUSSIAN BATTLESHIP.

Didnt matter. Without any ability to scare the planes away...its just broken and unfun.

They should drop the limit down to 1 or 2 CV in T4. That would help a lot.

Sure, T3 could use a bit more AA.  That's a good solution.  Not the one you want, though, is it, Tai?

Its the kindergarten tiers, dont espect one ship to have magic AA..

You should have not thought of going to the cap by yourself.   I NEVER do that unless you are a DD and sometimes I don't even do that. Let someone else take the bullet. You should had make a hard turn to join the rest of the fleet.  Understand the CV was targeting you for sure so nothing you can do about that.  Next time when you play..ask yourself "What position do I want to be in ? " .   Don't be the first to go by yourself to lead and don't do unescorted and don't be the lead ship in that escorted fleet.  You will last a lot longer.

Even with hard caps, if too many CVs want to play, you'll see queue dumps after a certain amount of time stuck in queue.  Hard caps aren't actually hard limits.
