I'm wondering what peoples set up is for Game Night, if you have a Game Night.

I try to play a little bit every day if possible, but my Game Night(s) is Friday and/or Saturday night ("night" being a very loose term since mine usually starts in the early afternoon.)

For music, I will either listen to soundtracks (I have hundreds of soundtracks, which vary from Man of Steel to Memoirs of a Geisha to Planet of the Apes to House of Frankenstein), or I will listen to an artist's entire catalog (I'm currently going through an Isley Brothers phase, before that was Led Zeppelin, before that was Earth Wind & Fire...).

"Food" of choice is Xxtra hot Cheetos (and a damp rag to wipe my fingers off on, natch.)

Drink of choice is a black ale, heavy porter or a stout (though I admit on weekends, sometimes I feel like I need something significantly stiffer...).

Anyone else have a setup that gets them revved up and ready to groove?

Nice,

I play a bit every day but usually have at least one very heavy day (10hrs) on the weekend.

For Music I use Spotify. I have made tons of play lists so just depends on my mood. I will also often listen to news podcasts on I heart Radio.

For food I usually skip that. Snacking and gaming is a quick way to get out of shape fast lol.

I will start the session out with a coffee and then I enjoy Zevia for the rest of the session.

A Grub Hub buffet, 1 and 3/4 litre of Jack Daniels, a Churchill Cigar and a couple of Escorts to serve and ah service!

We used to have a 12 feet x 10 feet horseshoe of office desks with 4 desktops on the LAN in the basement.  Generally, it was some form of beer followed by whisky or rum.  However, a recent flood destroyed all this and now we are down to 3 desktops scattered throughout the house.  Dinner was eaten before gaming.

Haha, yes... I am trying hard to kick the gaming/junk food habit. I eat fine during the week, and then it's "thar she blows" on Game Night!

Usually a coffee or tea. Later, water/gatorade.

Dont eat really while gaming. If I am eating something, it's like pretzels.

Usually run something on Netflix on the background (star trek reruns, office reruns). Sometimes some random video on youtube. (Kings and Generals, History Time, Alpha Investments, or some random documentary on some ancient civilization)

Well one night a week can be OK but that is within reason. The trouble with gaming is you can just keep eating without even realizing what is happening. Especially if you are drinking calories at the same time.

Getting my fitness and gaming worlds to match up took some time lol. It is worth it however. Fit body helps with a fit mind which makes you a better gamer.

3 weeks ago I did the Spartan Trifecta in Hawaii. It was brutal and Amazing! I feel like I have a super power.

Ever since having a child, i don’t know what a game night is anymore.

Im more of “get any gaming i can in, while child sleeping.”

1. A wife who understands my crazy desire to game a few straight hours- and I'm blessed to have one!

2. I usually avoid food due to sticky fingers.  If I need something it's pretzels, oreos, etc. but not too many!!  I've already got too much weight.

3. I might start off with one or two beers if I've just got home from work but after that it's water.  Once winter gets here I might nibble a little Jamisons. mmmm.

4. as to music it's eclectic, none at all or maybe a baseball game in the background

Some stale tater chips, a week old six pack of slightly chilled PBR and the truck radio turned up loud.  J/K of course ... I am NOT a Redneck! :Smile_trollface:

Damn now I want to have a game night tonight.

I’m like many- I play a couple / few games a day. If I’m sitting down for a bit longer I’ll typically put on a “deep chill” station on google play and keep it on in the background.

I don’t typically eat and game- I cut drinking (alcohol) back quite a bit a couple months ago but if “the day is the day” then I’ll grab a six pack of something light and go down with the ship.

Dark beer, pretzels, baseball game in the background, at least 8 months out of the year.

My game night is usually Thursday evening with my friends, but sometimes a Friday/Saturday night too if my wife goes out with her friends.  Gotta schedule it in advance with them since we're all married, fathers, and work long hours.

  • Food is either grilled chicken or homemade bean burgers.  I really enjoy cooking so I like to mix that with gaming when I can.
  • Beer, and lots of it.  Sometimes gin and tonics with lime.
  • I also work on annihilating my 2.5 gallon glass drink dispenser that I have sitting in the fridge.  I'm not 20 anymore so I can't just avoid drinking water.
  • If I'm by myself, I'll stream Starcraft II on the other monitor.
  • Baby monitor in front of me in case my son gets up in the middle of the night.
  • No music.  Too much sound hurts my ears.
  • No snacks.  Too dang messy.
  • If gaming at 5am in the morning, which I do sometimes, replace beer with coffee.

I think I play more in the mornings now than the evenings...
