11km in a Wichita.....

That lucky shell must land nearly perfect horizontal beside the funnel, pen the deck then enter the citedal through that 23mm citedal ceiling.

Heavy cruisers are able to citadel same tier and lower BB's at ranges where their shells are plunging into the deck.

I can give you another wth citadel. Me in Daring firing HE at Stalingrad. Citadel. Completely bow in to me. I was genuinely shocked.

Wasn't it said that the nose of an Iowa, sodak and NC all had a small flat polygon lucky ships could pen through?

If only we had proton torpedoes and the force, facing BBs would be a cakewalk...

As it stands, we apparently just have the force.

another possibility is hits through the conning tower, which counts as citadel. I'm not sure, but the top part of the conning tower is not very heavily armor, and at the right range, you can get shells to hit the top part, though it is very rare.

That or maybe hit the barbett and bounced straight down.

I'm going to go with plunging shell through the deck armor and into the citadel.

I think the problem comes with figuring out exactly where a shell hit. [edited] does have that replay/display that tells you where you hit and what damage it did.

Based on that screencap, the shells landed about amidships.
