Just posting this for anyone who might find it useful. It's my list but you can just take my Capt's out and put yours in.

I have a LOT of ships and a LOT of Captains. It can take a while to find them in game either on a ship or in reserves. The Personnel File is also a pain to use because it always starts you at IJN vs in the country you have a ship selected in.

I had a basic list done but it wasn't much better to use than the port options. So, I decided to just do a spreadsheet of my Captains. It is all of them: the ones assigned and in reserves.  Now I can find what I want a lot easier and quicker. Took a while to do it but well worth the effort (for me anyway).

I went by nation and listed everything pertinent about each Capt I have. Everything for each Capt is listed on it's own line and I include reserve listings at the bottom of each nation's page.

The spreadsheet is broken into pages for each nation in the game (tabs at bottom). Now I can quickly and easily find the info I want and it is a lot easier to update vs my old list.

So if you find it useful go for it. Hope it helps some of you at least. :Smile_honoring:

Nice sheet! It puts captains into better perspective than the in-game barracks. If anything I'd maybe make some filters for your information so that you can quickly see your highest level captains and filter by class and tier.

I'm only nitpicky in Excel because I'm studying accountancy, but otherwise fantastic resource! :cap_like:

Thanks. I actually don't use Excel much. Barely know how to do more than basics. Heck, my copy of it is from Office 2001 or thereabouts that is how little I use it LOL. :Smile_facepalm:

Interesting spreadsheet, with much to recommend it. For you, Admiral, it's as much a list of your ships as your captains.

I have a similar one, although I attempted the Sisyphean task of detailing how many CXP are left to get on each of them before the next point. You don't, and I probably shouldn't.

For the captains assigned to premiums, I list (where applicable) not the ship in which they sit but the tech-tree ship to which they are nominally assigned. However, this is a function of the fact that most of my premium ship captains that came with those ships were delivered as three- or six-pointers, and have been cooling their heels in reserve ever since they arrived. Conversely, at least one of my "special" captains (Fishy OG) came specialised for Hermelin and until very recently remained so, even though he spent essentially all of his time in the Scharnhorst. And my US 19-pointer is nominally specialised to the New Orleans; but when I'm not bouncing him around to this ship and that, he almost always gets put back in the Salem.

I could see myself paring this down a fair bit for my use: Type and tier are implicit in the name of the ship, so those columns could go.

Specialness of captain doesn't seem to be something I'd need to keep track of; in almost all cases not involving special skills (anime, space, apocalypse, Dasha captains), it's inherent in the name.

Enhanced skills could be indicated in bold font, while unique skills are about as relevant to me as mammaries on a male bovine. :Smile_teethhappy:

But all that's just me, and a reflection of the fact that my spreadsheet is maintained on a tablet with nowhere near as much screen space or ease of scrolling. We all construct our data tables in the ways that serve us best. :Smile_great:

Thank you sir.  There are many helpful guides, on several subjects, both in the forums and on other supporting websites.  But there are never enough!!!

Especially considering the frequency they must be altered to keep up with new updates and changing strategies.  This often gives new players (and forgetful veterans) a way to keep from being so overwhelmed by the game until experience (or memory) kicks in.

I've a similar sheet to yours but I keep mine in Google sheets so I have access to it anywhere (I readily admit that I was inspired by another player who posted his sheet on the forum months ago).  I've far fewer Captains and don't track Captain skills because quite frankly, I don't understand the skills well enough yet to make them make a difference.  I think I have an early version of mine as an image on my profile.  For my sheet, the ships are the emphasis and are listed first.

Anyway, thank you for sharing yours as it gives me an alternative look on how to organize.  Also reminds me that I mean to do the same with my tanks but I've about 200 of those and with 4 crew avg per tank plus a ton of extra crew, it amounts to mountain of organization to do.
