Hey sometimes I feel like there are too many t6 operations and that wargaming are slacking on making the t7 ones.

agreed but instead of just t7, maybe do more for all the other tiers as well

In a recent Q&A on Reddit, Sub_Octavian said new Ops or the return of old ones wasn't planned in the near future; at the moment they want to focus on PvP.

Personally I think Ops are pretty profitable earnings wise, hurting some of WG's goals.

Sadly, WG has decided Scenarios are no longer a thing, unless it’s Halloween or April Fools day to test a new concept. :fish_glass:  We aren’t getting existing Scenarios updated for WGs new CV concept, so the chances getting a completely new Scenario outside the holiday specials is somewhere between zero and nada.

Frankly, FF, in spite of bot CVs being added back into Coop, their AI seems pretty pathetic.   From my experience, bot AI is so bad right now that any bot planes are little more than free plane kills.  Also, I don't recall if the bot CV plane AI in Raptor Rescue was decent or not.

So, having said that, unless they've improved bot CV plane AI on the sly, I don't see much point in rereleasing any of the Operations where CVs or at least CV planes are important to the op, so long as bot plane AI stinks.  I suppose that there may be some ops where CVs aren't hugely important to the overall design of the op and the CVs could be replaced with surface ships.  But I can't imagine Cherry Blossom without the bot planes.

Agree ... unfortunately all 4 of the Scenarios that were suspended were higher tier ... hopefully the "not so near Future"" will come sometime next year.

I often go for the south CV in Raptor Rescue, and it is possible to get air torped if one is sufficiently pre-occupied with the escorting DD and cruiser.  Being a Hosho, the Nurnberg running only priority sector can shoot down quite a few.  I thought about switching to DFAA, but it’s not necessary imo.  I do notice that bots almost always panic drop, I.e., the torps are never in parallel courses.

I don’t know what the difficulty WG is having revamping some of the Scenarios.  For instance, with Cherry Blossom or Dynamo, it’s not that the individual plane groups have “good AI”, it’s the sheer quantity while having lots of surface ships simultaneously attacking that made those Scenarios challenging.

I mean Final Frontier was tweaked to be miserable. The only Ops that were actually fun were Narai, Cherry Blossom and Dynamo. Honorable mention to Hermes. WG blames the new CV design for why they were taken out, but I think they were tired of losing all their whale money because the smart whales were grinding hard on the Ops. (Sims on Dynamo would print +1 million credit payout and 40K exp/fxp and 80K captain xp a go with all the fixins.)

WG will only start caring about Operations again once they find a way to monetize them.

I never had a problem with Final Frontier.  Oh, getting that bot CV could be difficult at times since it almost required you to either have a CV or have friendlies push south to get him spotted (and shot at).

If I had a gripe about Final Frontier, it's that IMO it should be an Axis only operation, since the enemy is purely USN ships.  I really wish that most if not all operations were alliance limited (i.e. Axis or Allies), because IMO it'd make those operations more interesting.

Of course, if I had my druthers, they'd do away with the "operation of the week" and replace it with the "operation of the day" or every other day.  The one operation I don't particularly like is Newport Station, because it's really, really difficult to even squeak out a win with random teams.  Damned op feels like it's designed to be hard mode from the get go.  But my point is that I hate it when Newport Station is the operation of the week because I know that I'll probably play ops very little for that week.  But if they'd switch Operations every day or every other day, it would make dealing with an operation you didn't like a lot less of a bother, because you'd know that they'd be changing it up within a day or 2.

If I had my way there'd be an Operation Roulette. You pick your ship and the MM builds a team for a randomly selected operation that tier qualifies for.

That means you can pick your favorite Tier 6 and hop into Roulette, and wind up in Killer Whale one game, then Raptor Rescue the next. Keeps it from getting repetitive.

Of course you can also pick specific operations if you want, but I'd add an extra reward to the roulette option to make it appealing. An XP or credits bonus or something.

That's not a horrible idea.  But to be honest, I don't have a favorite tier 6 (or any other tier).  I pick the ship I want to play in Ops based on the Operation, and making ops random like this would take some of the fun out of it.  OTOH, if there was actually an "Operation Roulette" and the other operations still existed as they do today, it might be amusing to play Roulette once in a while, though honestly, it'd be best if Roulette's MM would try to avoid more than 1, maybe 2, DDs per team.  I rather hate having DDs on my ops teams (except for Dynamo, of course).  It takes a very good DD player for a DD to be useful in Ops, IMO.  And most DD players just aren't that good.

A roulette would necessitate a fixed team comp so it'd probably go for 2-3-2 or something like that, BB/CA/DD, with a CV taking a BB slot as needed.

And as I said this is not mutually exclusive to your idea. Just something I'd like to see, because I'd like the challenge of making whatever ship I chose work for whatever Operation I get.
