XP needed for each tier 10 ship. CV is not included b/c each CV line only yields 8k NTC research points. This is copied from somewhere else.

To earn 10000 research points, resetting the IJN DD line requires least amount of FXP.

II.

Let's be honest, this NTC thing is merely another campaign to sell players FXP (doubloons/research boosters).

Here comes the math:

an NTC ship (Colbert) requires 57,000 NTC points. Not considering the one-time 10,000 reward, you need to regrind a line 6 times for an NTC ship. The best doubloon deal on WOWS premium shop is probably the Admiral's Bounty ($50 for 12,500 doubloons). Assuming you FXP the most cost-effective line (Haru).

Amount of FXP needed for 6 Harus: 4.06 mil

$$$ needed for 60k NTC points (assuming 1:35 exchange ratio and you have a Haru already):

406/35/1.25*50=$464.
If you account for the one-time 10k reward which saves you one grind. The total cost would be:

$464*5/6=$387
If you account for the double points for each season which saves another grind. The total cost would be:

$464*4/6=$309

III.

Conclusions and some predictions:

A. For warship whales, a future NTC ship could cost ~$400 if one wants to skip all the grinding.

B. I would expect WG to increase the XP needed for certain lines to "normalize" the NTC grinding. In other words, research the FXP-lite DD lines now.

C. I would expect waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more bots in the game from 0.8.7 update and thereafter. WG needs those bots to fill in their "spreadsheet".

D. To encourage the enormous amount of grinding in this game (as if there isn't enough already), more OP NTC ships might be released in the future. In other words, exchanging for the colbert and the soon-to-be nerfed Ohio may not be your best option.

E. I recall when Pentagon (or some NTC's original name) was initially announced it requires 6 grinds to get a OP lv.3 Montana (1+2+3 grinds required for each level). In the future it requires exactly 5-6 grinds to get an NTC ship. In WG's initial design, 6 grinds = Lv. 3 BBs with +15% HP, -10% dispersion, +1 consumables. With the track record of WG's stubbornness historically, I would expect some future OP NTC ships to be effectively T11 by design to lure the whales.

F. With the recent NTC and submarine announcements, I am really not confident that WOWS would be able to celebrate its 5th birthday next fall.

G. I got no job. I got no family. The endless WOWS grind in the recent events no  disgusts me. Would anyone suggest another game to me that is relaxing no to play?

anyone wish to play Magic the Gathering Arena with me? same nickname as WoWS here

Nah, I ama going to a report every person looks like a script so nobody will enjoy NTC for free, just getting banned bot users!

WG doesnt do anything about bots. They ignore all tickets on that subject.

That's grim. I wish I hadn't read that, but you're so right.

Here is what will happen:

WG: Hey we'd like you guys to trade in all those credits and FXP you've hoarded.
Players: Hmmm.... (looks at Colbert, shakes head)... (looks at Ohio, shakes head). Guess I'll hoard Research Points til they put something there worth having.

Personally, I'd probably regrind a line if I got a coupon for a free premium.... but the devs' obsession with T10 means that there will probably never be ships there that I will play much, because they simply lack the imagination to make T8-9 premiums available to us somehow.

Nah, I ama going to a report every person looks like a script so nobody will enjoy NTC for free, just getting banned bot users!

You go report all them dam bots as they ruin the gameplay experience for everyone. I just love how some people ignore the obvious money grabbing nature of this Research Bureau. I mean we are taking about regrinding 50-60 ships here alone just to get one measly tier 10 ship. To me that screams scam and ripoff. I can’t believe that people will think it will be worth it to spend $387-400+ on free xp either.

I am sure it would have been wiser to release New Jersey or Wisconsin as a tier 10 free xp ship at tier 10 with Missouri’s same credit earning potential. This Research Bureau screams Armory or Arsenal 2.0. Just sayin. I just know so many people that will just purchase this free xp outright and will not give it another thought. Oh well it’s their choice and I will keep my tier 10’s which took me over a year to grind safely in my port.  I mean does no one ever think that Ohio would have made a great alternative line. Well good luck I guess to those who want to do this.

If you're a strategy buff Stellaris and Total War Three Kingdoms are immersive titles which offer fun progression without much frustration.

Borderlands 2 is always fun if that kind of humor is of your bent; it's like what? $10 on steam for the complete pack? If you want something mentally challenging but not emotionally trying, SpaceChem is probably the most difficult puzzle game ever made; it's typically ~$5 or so. There's nothing more relaxing than Free-Riding in AudioSurf; basically plays your music in graphically interesting update to the old 'Race' car dodging game; a second equally interesting game of the same style is Beat Hazard; same deal, play your music, but this time it's a SMUP instead. Great way to just ENJOY a game with little to no stakes. World in Conflict is a fantastic RTS/RTT if that is your bend. And if you must, MUST play PvP because nothing else gets you, TF2 is free to play and basically one of the most well balanced, easy to learn/hard to master games ever.

I'd guess for the following categories, I'd rate for best relaxing play would be:

RTT/RTS: World in Conflict Campaign (Easy/Medium mode; low stakes, hard to fail, easy to lose tons of units but there are unlimited reinforcement points and it's an RTT moreso so no micromanaging or base building to distract. Just pick units, air drop them in, and attack.

Puzzle: If not Portal/Portal 2 for easy relaxing but fun, then Braid; if nothing else it is a really really well made game

FPS Single Player: Borderlands 2, definition of NOT serious business. Take the 2 minutes to learn how to use a Gibbed Save editor and have endless fun trying wacky combinations and builds

FPS Multiplayer: TF2; low stakes PvP distilled.

MMORPG: SWToR; low stakes, can be more or less played as a single player game for 30-50 hours through the main story modes, all of which are free to play (only really end-game content is pay-walled)

RPG Single Player: Maybe Mass Effect 2? Fun, variety of gameplay, low-stakes (save-scum if you wish), the more nuanced 'build' stuff of RPG's was toned down from Mass Effect 1 so it's a faster pick up. Contrary to popular belief you can easily pick it up without having played ME1 as they basically summarize the whole game in the first 30 minutes of 2.

Music: Audiosurf is relaxing defined, and Beat Hazard if you want a little more action.

WWII: If you just want something on theme... relaxing? I'd say probably, for Single Player, Call of Duty 2. I know, I know, but out of all of them it has the least portentous campaign, the most interesting battles/settings, and actually some humor for all 3 Campaigns (MACGREGOR!). If MP is needed then BF1942 still has a surprisingly large community for a 17 year old game, can be picked up for like, $5, and is low stakes/relaxing as an MP WWII game will get as there is little in the way of 'driven' play; e.g. no unlocks, stats, ranks, whatever.

When you hear FortNite made $1.2 BILLION USD  in the last 10 months. That must make WG think of ways to get as much $ as possible.

Sad part is that Epic managed that without selling in-game content, just cosmetics. WoWs and WGing games in general are some of the most PTW games on the market and they STILL cannot compete with that level of income.
