1st!

RPF? What would lose for that? CE or IFHE?

If you're using RPF on a ship like this, you're doing it wrong.

That New Mexico charging into 4 ships, which included a DD lurking around islands.  So dumb.

I don't know about calling Bayard a Henri Jr.  Henri is a dangerous fire starter with a very, very high fire chance.  The kind of fire setting that makes everyone take notice once Henri starts hitting them.  Bayard's shells are just like Cleveland and the fire chance is identical.  Bayard has MBRB but her default reload is slower than that of Cleveland.  Cleveland also maneuvers better.

Not saying Bayard is a bad ship, but she's pretty plain to me and not a Tier VIII Henri IV.

RPF is definitely not a skill that you want on the Bayard. You need to maximize the damage output of the Bayard and this should be what you are focusing on.

You want the latter 2 and it is not even close.

Now if only I’d ever seen mbrb live up to its hype I might care?

I'm kinda wondering about the upgrades build.   In particular, slots 4 and 5, though slot 2 somewhat as well.

In slot 2, I'm wondering if using the DefAA super module would be worth it.  If not, then what?

In slot 4, I'm not sure whether improved rudder or improved acceleration would be better.

And in slot 5, because the ship already has a concealment of 10.7 km with its base plus the -10% from CE, whether taking rudder mod 3 would be worth taking over the concealment mod.

In slot 3, I'm assuming that the usual Aiming systems mod is the go to option.  The AA mod is mildly tempting, but with CVs not showing up as often, it doesn't seem as important now.  (This may also hold true for the slot 2 choice, BTW.)

As for skills, I'm just using my Henri captain, which is pretty similar to the skills suggested about, though he doesn't have DE.  (I tend to not take DE for captains of ships that already have high fire starting chances, like the Henri, Zao, and RN BBs.)

Any thoughts on this would be welcome.

Yeah, I never liked the MBRB gimmick.  I think it's a French acronym for "Make Red Bote Disappear" or something like that.  Target red bote, hit MBRB, watch as red bote goes stealth inside 5km and vanish.

Just watched Flamus review. seem like a good ship for a good experienced captain, not for those who lack French playstyle I think. Also think a very squichy mini-Henri with no heals so every hit you take sticks and every hit you take will do damage to you. Dont have Henris range or special angles and cant lob that good over islands.

Either way.  But IMO the MBRB has been a net negative for the French line.  When the French cruisers were introduced, they were great in that they were just simple, gimmick free ships that were fairly solid.  Good 'all around' ships.  Now it's just their national gimmick.

I’ll admit I don’t play the cheese eating wine drinkers very much; that limited experience tells me it’s useless.

Players who do play them a lot might feel otherwise.
