I made small but significant steps in my trip through the Honourable Service Campaign; Mission 2 is done, and the tasks in missions 3 to 5 seem a lot more easily done than in the first two (although this might have something to do with me having a better and broader range of ships than when I started).

Bought a couple of premium ships in the sales for chilling in co-op and for operations play (Krasny Krym and Mutsu) and had good fun in them (yes, even in the Krasny Krym). Bought one of the Apocalypse commanders for the Mutsu. So far she's living up to my expectations.

Played the Hill a bit more. Oh God, this thing is fun in co-op; nearly 100K damage, she's only running a 9 point captain (so no CE) and I haven't even put upgrade modules on yet.

Dipped my toe in the waters of T8 Random CV play. T10 MM, ouch, but it guarantees the presence of a carrier for plane kills in the Campaign missions and I wasn't completely useless.

All in all, a very good weekend.

A busy lad !  I took Sunday off for the first time in weeks....  I'm done, as in finished with, all of the events, challenges and grinds I set out to accomplish.  Thank the Schwartz for that.......  And, an old gaming mouse decided to "simply stop working" after so many years of faithful service.  Finding a "clone" of it was a challenge though.

Now, I have to pare-down my ships to the smallest, most efficient numbers necessary to play future events....   That means, a lot of ships are leaving port for the scrappers to make some money on.  I don't need more than "x" ships and that's this next month's goal: to draw down the ship list to only those ships that are "value-added"......   Ought to be interesting !  What is the fewest number of ships you can own and still accomplish all of the Game's nuances and modes.

Clan mates have well over 100 ships a-piece......  Too many to even consider rational.  Of course, they say "it's boring playing the same ten, 19 point CPT'd ships all of the time....."  We'll see !!!

Worked on getting 2 containers a day Friday-Sunday.  Looking to build up the coal stocks.  Just my luck, I got a SC with 1K dubs.  (The last part is sarcasm).

Finished the AL collection.

Finishing up the Nurnberg grind.  Working on Aoba, Izyaslav, an Bayern.

For me? Fiji, Salem, Cossack, Implacable, Warspite. At least one ship each for T6 and T7 ops, one for Clan battles, high-tier Ranked, three for permanent campaigns (some of which require a carrier). A DD, CL and BB I can put my British 19 pointers through, and one for the American one.

That's the bare bones. I would consider adding the Baltimore for Cherry Blossom when it comes back and the Sims at T7 for Dynamo (can you bring Cossack? I can't remember), but they are (relatively speaking) luxuries.

I know there's one crazy dude who decided to make the Huang He his hill to die on; he even sold all his other ships and changed his username to that. There might be better choices, but there's no doubt that a smoke cruiser with torps and main guns that can fire HE (and which is eligible for a broad range of operations and most directives) would be a pretty good choice for one-does-all. Perth gets an extra turret, though, which I think might make her the more preferable ship if I absolutely could not keep anything else.

Bayern B hull has a spotter plane that the A hull does not, in case you aren't there yet.

I got the B hull and the engine upgrade so far.  I used the spotter yesterday (silly kiting bots).  I am not sure that extra range is the greatest thing for German BBs.

Nothing like a photo finish to get the adrenaline pumping.

Looking back, I realised only too late that it would have been doable for me - or at the very least, attainable at minimal cost. I don't think I could have scored enough dailies because of RL things. But if I had ignored the doomsayers who whined about the cash grinds and started them early, I might at least have brought in more fuel tokens and pulled the cost way down. Ultimately I chose to prioritise other things, and I have to admit thatt those are starting to work out better for me in the long run.

It's not, but I've blown up an Emerald at maximum A-hull range (Dev Strike without detonation), so it does occasionally come together.

Plus when you're facing T8 ships, even being able to shoot back at all is better than nothing. You never know when they're going to forget their detonation flags and RNGesus is going to bless you. And it makes you feel not completely defenceless.

Honestly i spent most of the weekend playing Nari earning credits and fxp..  Still amazing though some of the things you see. Three ships over taking out the transports,  nobody protecting the escort ships. Although i think folks have gotten taking out the MO down to a science now..  Heck in one match he never made it to the island to make the turn.

Tried to Speed boost my way to the CV through the bay in my Mahan to see if i could torp him early.. didn't work so well, bots are remarkably accurate and with the Dallas, Campbell town and Pheonix shooting at me.. didn't quite get to him in time.. had to stop and smoke up.

Some Randoms thrown in and got to play some lower tier stuff with my stepson.. which was fun.  Saw the Benham in action in a few games, man.. torp soup.

Almost past tier six on all tech trees. Just Normandie and Queen Elizabeth. Finished the Minsk grind. I didn’t buy any of the researched ships yet though. Doing as much research then gonna grind credits. I’m at 30 million plus but that evaporates quickly when buying ships even with a clan discount.

I finished the 4th directive and got the Hill (well, the doubloons; purchased it earlier as I wasn't sure I'd have enough fuel tokens for the Benham, and wanted to try for it at a reasonable pace) on Saturday after working in the morning.  Played a bunch of games in coop also, as well as some RW to farm ECXP.  Did the same on Sunday for a bit, but was pretty unmotivated after finishing the directive and logged off late afternoon.  Played a couple of randoms on Sunday prior to logging off, and actually had a Marauder in a game.  That was about it with that event.  Probably was not the best of weekends to plan that on top of it being the last weekend of the RW.  Figured I increased my ECXP about 290K during the RW event.  Have yet to decide where to distribute that yet.  Have one 19-pt captain; Yammamoto at 15 would be easy; and hopefully will have Halsey in a few weeks.  Then back to grinding one of the original permanent campaigns that I haven't gotten very far on (the Science one?; was too new when it came out, then concentrated on the others as they were available).

Especially when you have to add on several million for upgrade-slot modules.

Minsk offers a very interesting choice - grind straight through to the Kiev (unlocked from the gun module) or grind out the hull and the torpedoes first, then go for Ognevoi or Kiev as you see fit. I went straight for the Kiev first, basically playing the Minsk stock the whole time, and most of that in co-op. I didn't mind that because they gave away a standard Minsk permacamo in dailies early this year (I missed the special one, alas), and Minsk in co-op is a YOLO thing of joy.

Tier Six is actually a good place to stop for a while and take stock; you can run most operations (and Minsk is even viable in Narai), and service costs are mild enough to take home a lot of cash after a good performance.

Which nation is your 19 pointer in? I got my first 19 pointer in the Royal Navy and was careful to get the second in a different nation (USN) to ensure the greatest possible access to the widest range of premium ships (of which I have a few in both navies; some won, some bought, some coal and FXP). I should ideally have developed the third in a different navy altogether, but Jack Dunkirk was closest and he is in the Monarch, which for all its deficiencies CAN do well, and which has one of those "Congratulatory" captain-XP-boosting camos that you can get with coal.

Finished Hill and Benham grinds. Played a bunch of Siegfried and Friesland so I'd have better feedback to contribute to those discussions (Siegfried has a strong but specialty role, Friesland is a meme). Managed to pull off a 1v3 in Rogue Wave (was a 3v3 but both teammates beached and got whacked in the first pass).

Best part, clan decided that instead of tryharding, we would spend the entire Brawl running an all-soviet lineup. So cyka, much blyat.

Finally stopped being lazy about it and ranked out of that wretched Epicenter Sprint. That mode is a lot less painful in randoms.

I thought Honorable Service had to be done in tier 8 or higher.?

Science of Victory requires a T6 ship to finish, but some of the early tasks are accessible even in co-op, to ships as low as Tier 3.

All the others require Tier 8, and only the Halsey campaign can be done in co-op. The XP and cash grinds required for that are brutal, to put it mildly, but there are people with permacamos, premium time etc. (including me) who like to run T8+ co-op to chill (and coal premiums make it affordable to all), and having one or more of those tasks selected lets you accumulate small gains while you relax. For co-op exclusives like @AdmiralThunder it's the only one they can do.

I keep meaning to ask what that is, but it's reportedly too obscene even to mention in English here and I think Google Translate misses important nuances.

Just finished the T8 CV grind for Lexington and Shokaku.  That 330k XP grind from T8 to T10 felt like it took ages to complete.  But at least now, it will be nice facing the same T10 ships but without being bottom-tier plane fodder.  Midway and Hakuryu should be interesting and should help in getting some of the T10 CV campaign missions completed.

Now the grind moves to the Russian battleships and British carriers.  Almost have wrapped up Sinop at T7 (thanks, Ranked Sprint) and about half way through Hermes at T6.  I do want to try and get these knocked out before the French DDs appear on the scene.

Also earned Benham over the weekend as well, but haven't taken her out on her maiden voyage yet.  @Edgecase, what are your thoughts on Benham so far?

Yes, you're right.  At Furious, grinding towards Implacable.  I'll certainly miss those 200% XP bonus days to help get through the slog up to T10.

Good catch.  Not enough sleep last night, apparently.

Pretty good weekend. Picked up the Benham and Hakyuru. Power leveled my wife's Shai in Black desert.

Was fun to be event free for a little bit. Played a lot of random ships just for the simple joy of them.

The 200% days helped me get through the Furious. I gave that one the highest priority because WG pretty much gave away the Implacable's permacamo (if you don't mind the aesthetics), so I figured this was the logical first choice. I'm going to see if I get lucky with older permacamos at Halloween before deciding to go for any more T8 carriers (so far I've scored the Wakatake, Nassau and Kiev spooky camos, so I'm feeling lucky this year). What would you recommend as captain skills and modules for a 10 pointer for Implacable? It's expensive and my credits are not bottomless, so I want to get it right.
