Caveat emptor.

There was never any statement that the post-apocalyptic captains had special bonuses. You're just paying for starting with 10 points. Captains with special abilities have them clearly listed. If you failed to notice that such was not the case here...

And it's 4 million credits. That's like... nothing. It's literally play money you get for playing the game, and not very much of it at that.

I can understand being upset about making a foolish purchase, but being upset at WarGaming is misdirected. There's plenty of real things to be upset at them about. This one is on you alone.

You are paying 4m Credits for a cosmetic item, in this case a captain with 10 points. Nowhere did WG state that those captains have special skills like legendary captains do.

So I do not quite get what you are upset about? That you made an error of judgement when looking through the arsenal? That WG is not covering up for your mistakes?

A few of us was talking about this the other day, so I can understand the OP's point of view here

It states that the commander comes with a specialization and the OP is asking what is the spec other than the 10 points

It means he's already trained on Gearing. That's all.

You want in-game money back because the event captains are ... exactly what WG said they were? Or because you didn't understand what "specialization" means? I bought several of these guys ... I was happy to skip the 3-10 grind and get a competent captain out of the box for silver.

In this game, captain "specialization" means (and has always meant) he is trained for a particular ship.  If you got the captain with the ship, that part is understood.  If you buy a stand alone captain, it may not be so readily apparent.  The wording in that ad makes it apparent.

If he had special or unique skills, the ad would have said that, also.

The entitlement is real. OP, WG advertised them exactly for what they were and you got exactly what you were advertised.

OP failed in his reading comprehension. However, he then failed to come here and ASK, before buying, whether these captains had any special powers or not, and what specialisation meant.

Yet he has no trouble making the effort to put in a ticket, wait for the reply, screenshot it, and come to the forums to complain that he was robbed.

I find sympathy difficult to muster.

Bingo. They really should have said "he comes PRE_TRAINED on the Gearing" instead of specialized.  But at the same time there are no bonuses listed so it is pretty obvious what their meaning is...so yeah...OP should have figured it out.  No foul.

@deathcenter you really should have used your first visit to the forums come and clarify the question you had rather than complain about this nonsense.  What exactly did you think specialized means?

You had time to come to the forum to rant of being ripped off, but you couldn’t be bothered to come to the forum to clarify what you were buying?  Dozens of people here ready to help you with any question.  Sorry dude, but now you know better.  I am low on credits at the moment, so I can sympathize losing 4m credits sucks.

The specialization is that it is for the Gearing. It CLEARLY states this.

Four million credits for a 10 point captain !!!   ????  Wait?  You are dissatisfied ???

Are you blitheringly stupid ?????  !!!!

WG should refund your 4 million credits RIGHT NOW.....  just to teach you a lesson.

That way, you'll look back and say...  Oh crap..  can I buy it back again?  I changed my mind.

I don't want to dog pile on OP but..  I think a lot of people would assume they are special captains.  When they first introduced them I thought so too.  Then I saw no differences and since I care less about my captains outside of stat points..   it hasnt ever been a thing.  Except for Dasha and her awesome voice on some of my key ships LOL.

Could it be that the OP thinks the captain he bought can be used only on that one ship ?

If so... you can transfer him to any ship as long as it is from the same country. You just will have to re-train him so he knows where all the buttons are (and what they to if he pushes them) on the bridge :-)

“Specialization” is the term WG has used since release, and has consistently used in that context.
