Time for some New Scenarios?

I like to mix it up between Randoms, Scenarios, CO-Op and Ranked.  Since 8.0 there's been a treadmill of the same three of four Scenarios over and over.  It's either T7 Naria  (or whatever its called where you escort transports -- its  the scenario that's in rotation currently ) and two  or three Tier VI scenarios.   New tech trees, new premium ships and the like keep getting released.  How about releasing some new scenarios .  And I don't care if AI controlled CVs and aircraft are still broke .  It should still be possible to release a new scenario every once in awhile.

Wouldn't hold your breath. In a Q&A on reddit not too long ago Sub_Octavian came right out and said no to new OP's and any Co-op improvements. WG is "focusing on PVP content which is the core of the game". The rest of us do not matter to WG. Just PVP folks.

Been asking the same question for a while now . Most of the responses have been ....because of new ship lines being  made and new events, there is no time for new ops. Also there is the current state of CV rework that's being ironed out so ops are not top priority right and this moment. ...

I for one would stick a couple of dudes in a back office and have them think up new ops on a six to nine month basis. Lol. But GL with that.

Quite a few of the Operations were 'removed' because they involved bot CVs with active squadrons, both friendly and enemy.  heck no CV bots in coop anymore.  It was nice when WG had introduced them slowly over time, some were really good and fun (Operation: Cherry Blossom the only t8 one but only for 'allied' cruisers).  Hopefully WG will return them once they get the kinks worked out of the AI.   I useto play randos almost exclusively with doing the 'new' Operations to 5 stars.  But as Random play became more and more toxic and stressful, I quit playing for about six months, returning and instead playing coop and Operations with very little to no randoms anymore.

Raptor Rescue is due to be back in rotation in the next update, which I think drops next week.

Bots are supposed to return to Coop with the next patch. I would expect them to return to Operations later this year.

Thunder, I don't have much of a problem with them taking some time to work on the core game.  I get frustrated when they use map making resources on gimmick event operations, not to mention normal operations, when we went so long without new maps for the core game (in which I do include coop, BTW).

But I have a  suggestion that I wish they'd consider.  There are some fairly interesting maps in the gimmick event ops that I think could be used for a standard operation.  I'm thinking in particular of that Halloween submarine "harbor" map, and the first of the Halloween maps.  I think that if they de-Halloween-ized them but kept the basic layout, those could be interesting maps for a couple of regular operations.  The first of the Halloween maps (the one that used tier 3 ships) could be a map for a tier 5 convoy operation.  And the second map could be a map for some sort of harbor raid operation, just at tier 7 or 8.

Just get rid of the Halloween elements and make the maps look more normal Earthly, brighten things up, and I'd think these maps would be perfectly usable without having to design them from scratch.

/thread.  Along with the comment by S_O, WG cannot even be bothered to fix the 4 remaining operations we lost due to the rework.  But hey at least we get Raptor back, its not like 3 out of the 4 current operations are T6. :Smile_smile:  

Since dedicating resources towards building a new operation would be such a strain, WG should consider either moving a T7 operation (U. Frontier or Hermes) to T8 (and moving a T6 to T7), or removing class and nationality restrictions on Cherry Blossom to open it to all.  If WG wants more players in high tiers, this would help with that goal.

WG should make more historical scenarios that match ships that actually fought each other (bearing in mind the Tier structure). Replaying the same scenarios gets old especially after the rewards have been attained.

 

But they are probably still watching revenue fall after the cv rework hence all the new paper premium [edited], I means ships.....

Which is silly. PVE has a place too in this game.

Why should coop suffer for the pvp masses . There are so many coop/ operations players out there. That bring in just as much to the game as any pvp player . WG needs to get out of the "make a quick buck" thinking and do more for the game in general. From what I understand pve players also buy premium time and add to the bank in lots of ways.

Would be nice for Tier IX-X Operations.  Not to mention stop doing national exclusive Operations like Cherry Blossom, Hermes.  Those two for example, completely leave out Axis ships, and they're the only ones where you could possibly bring a Tier VIII ship.

 

I'd like to use Prinz Eugen for example in Cherry Blossom.

Whats dumb about this, imo, is there are already a number of scenarios that never make the rotation. 

Why not enable those for the rotation? 

 

I'm guessing they don't have the 13 seconds spare to enable them, while they are focused on the PvP?

They are out of rotation due to bot AI testing, which is likely what they are doing this patch with bot CVs in coop and bringing back Raptor Rescue.
