Replay

Every time you go to battle, you can have the entire battle recorded for later view if you set the drop-down menu "Enable Battle Recording", found on the General-tab in the ingame Settings, to "Always". If you always watches your battles to the end, the setting "Last" will be sufficient. The resulting replays will be found in the folder .../World_of_Tanks\replays , with the latest at the bottom.

These replays serves two purposes: It lets you analyse the battle afterwards and get opinions from other players, and it serves as evidence regarding breaches of the Game Rules that has occurred. Well, there is always the third purpose, bragging about your successes and gloating over the enemies' (or team-mates') mistakes!

For easy sharing, there are a number of sites that let you upload replays with comments.

To watch a replay, be it your own or a downloaded one, you must close the game and then double-click (open) the desired replay-file. Once you are done watching, the client has to be closed once again.[1]

Controls

  • Pause the replay = Spacebar
  • Increase replay speed = Up-arrow
  • Decrease replay speed = Down-arrow
  • Skip forward 20 seconds = Right-arrow
  • Skip forward 40 seconds = Ctrl + Right-arrow
  • Go to the end of battle = End
  • Go back 20 seconds = Left-arrow
  • Go back 40 seconds = Ctrl + Left-arrow
  • Go to the start of the battle = Home
  • Toggle camera lock (between looking around freely and fixed in the same direction as the player did) = Left mouse button.
  • Prt Scr = Take a screenshot, which goes to the folder .../World_of_Tanks/screenshots

Hello dear Ocoda!

Thank you for contacting!

Please check your option of saving replays.

We have an option to re-configure the replay save parameters. You can utilize it by editing the scriptsPreferences section of the preferences.xml file. Future updates will not affect your personalized settings. To change the settings, edit the following parameter:

maxReplaysToSave — number of replays to save,

0 — save all replays,

N — save replays of the last N battles.

This file is located at the main folder of the game.

Should you have any further concerns, questions or problems, feel free to get back to us at any time.

anyone have a degree in computer tech that can read this to me in English. i don't have Xml software so not sure what to do here?  wonder why they have an outdated Wiki page that doesnt have the proper way to activate replays

Hello Ocoda,

You don't need any special software to edit the file in question. (Fun Fact - a lot of coding can be done simply in notepad). What the article you are referring to is saying, in summary, is to:

1. Find the preferences.xml - usually in C:\Games\World _of_Warships_NA\     *assuming NA for North America.

2. Double click on preferences.xml to open it in notepad

3. Use CTRL + F to open a search box and type "maxReplay"

4. Change the number to your preference, 0 means save all or enter a limit.

However, i went into my preferences file and did not see this option, or any replay option for that matter. However, my replays are saving fine in the replays folder, 30 max...

Hope this at least provides some clarity!
