Is it wrong to want the Combat Missions button to go directly to Combat Missions?

If the button said "Events" it might be reasonable for it to go to Events first, but it does not.

Even if the port UI was crisp and responded quickly without animation delays the extra click might not be so bad, because the delay wouldn't feel as bad as it does.

However, as it is, I find myself wanting to check the exact status of my combat missions multiple times per play session, and the way it is causes me some frustration every time.

In Soviet Russia, events check on you.

But seriously, what you’re asking for is Super Advanced Programming and cant be wasted on trivial things like having a mission button go to the mission screen. (Note: I lied about the “seriously” part)

Better would be if it was a drop down menu so you could go to where you want.

If it is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Glad you brought this up, since I've thought about it many times since the last patch.  Very minor annoyance, but still something that irks me a bit.

I've wondered the same thing myself. There's a separate events button, if I want to go to events, I'll click on it. But I click on missions because I want to get to the missions, not the events.

People wonder why WG can't get the CV rework right when they can't even get buttons in the port to do what they're labeled to do, much less make a smooth port UI.

Yep, seems there is some room for preference there.  I would like to choose what is shown and I would like to hide all the unique upgrade missions.

I almost never check my events and missions any more because it takes longer and the UI was laggy and slow enough before. It was a neat idea to make the UI more streamlined but poor execution.

I keep seeing statements that the UI is laggy and slow.

Mine isn't. I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 6-core, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, and a Radeon RX 580

So, my hardware is good, but not great.

Is the port UI really that resource intensive?

Aside from that, I agree with the main complaint: the extra click through is annoying.

When  I have achieved my personal goals of the ships I wanted the Grind has ended. I now Play for fun.

Screw the Grind screw the Lagging UI screw the Win/Loss.

WG has no interest in fixing anything they just continue to add more CRAP to make it look as if they actually are working.{ Trust Me they are not WORKING}

It's a small thing that's actually very annoying, given 99% of players want the actual Combat Missions tab.  A lot of people, including me, click it multiple times a day to see where we are in combat missions or other events.  Having it still point to the Events tab after multiple patches just shows the devs don't play the game, or are just lazy for not fixing it yet.

Especially the latter part, which will take some of us (ahem.......me) another 2-3 years to finish.

Yet, on another weird note, I have a combat mission progression show up for "Total Wreck" in the post battle screen, which tasks you with 3 million damage to ships.  No idea what the reward is, as the mission does not show up under combat missions in port.  Anyone else seeing this?

You must be living in an alternative universe. The port IU is horrible.

I run an Acer Predator laptop undervolted and overclocked on both CPU and GPU. Liquid metal thermal compound. Its equipped with an extra cooling module in place of the optical drive bay. 32g of 2666 DDR4 dual channel ram. I literally have to run a stress test to exceed the thermals and lag I encounter in the port UI.

If I'm in an alternate universe, I want out. My computer performance in WoWS UI is about the only thing going well!

But yeah, no lag.

I get a tiny bit of lag on my laptop, but it's not even a gaming system (though I did spec it for video editing, so it handles games okay).

It’s one of the missions for this wasteland (or whatever it’s called) event. Check the list of event missions. It’s in the same place as the previous events, but looks more like an ad this time.

Yeah, I think you mean Detroit battles.  It's a component in Detroit battles for sure.

I thought it was called something like “thunder dome” or “waste water”. I’d call it “strikes of schizo sewer skiffs”

This was my feedback during the PTS and when the patch with the new buttons went live.

First choice, dropdown menu.

Second choice, goes straight to the standard missions section.

Last choice, the events.

Funny though, I run the same, except a 2700x, and I don't have any issues.

TBH, it seemed to be only the odd update cycle where I had any issues with my FX-6300/12Gb DDR3/HD7790

Yep, seem like a simple thing for WG to do.

I really could care less about the other catagories, all I want to see is the Combat Mission 99% of the time.

Very few software companies employ a competent UI design specialist that's more than a digital graphics artist.  Things may look pretty but they're rarely pretty and usable.
