how reduced? 8k? which is basically the same as no cyclone? Just can't use other ships that spot for them?

Nothing can fly in a cyclone.

Hurricane hunter aircraft beg to differ. Ships wouldnt be firing in a cyclone either. Considering we have magical healing potions, instant abilities to stop flooding/fires, reloads of torpedoes, etc. how is aircraft in cyclones suddenly a bridge to far?

Sure, planes cant fly, nor shells can properly hit the target.. If you want to implement this, and by this i mean, make sure planes dont fly in cyclone zones, then you should increase the dispersion of all Ships, guns and torps alike up to 50%, to make it accurate.

ships should sink while in it as well. Anything smaller like DDs and cruisers. BBs should just be disabled. See how that sounds?

you the same Doc from OPG? Some did sink. Historically, most had to grind through bad conditions. DD's included.

I always thought that would be a great idea, ships shooting each other with 20 foot seas should affect dispersion.

How about no confrontation no war activities during  a cyclone.... Weather was a good tool to avoid war, to avoid the enemy. Then again its not a sim game...

The game should be 100% as realistic as it could be. Played in real time.

There is a lot of difference between WW2 CV based aircraft & the C-130's & P-3 Orion's that fly into hurricanes today. NOAA's small Gulfstream IV flies around & above the storms. It would have been suicidal to fly a WW2 carrier based plane into a heavy storm. The USS Warrington, a Somer class DD, did sink in a hurricane in 1944.

Back to the fantasy world we call World of Warships, it is the imbalance CV's bring to the game that spawn questions like this.

TY, the only point I intended to make was that most surface ships suffer a huge amount of combat effectiveness in game with a cyclone. A CV should also experience the same, but they don't, in fact they immediately get stronger during a cyclone, at least compared to the other classes.

Obviously, however the OP made an absolute statement.

How about all ships effectiveness cut by 3/4 ? Then no one is at a disadvantage everyone is the same.  You would have to be under 4km from the enemy to fire.

How about the waves that should be part of the storm are added too, and ships get pitched about, and possibly damaged or sunk?   :Smile_facepalm:

Ok WOW!  Way to stretchhhhhhh to make a point.  One minute everyone wants to be all wonky about tech and historical facts in the game the next they go all Elmer fudd cartoony.  It is a WELL know HISTORICAL fact that CVS had to plan attacks around weather.  You don't have to even be a historian just watch ANY WW2 WW1 Film.. OMG!!

Pro CV people will do anything say anything to not have anything done to their play.  Forget CYCLONES just serious clouds , fog or thunderstorms can ground planes.  Try and deny that.

The use of waddabouts here is just amazing.

Navies would not engage in cyclones, to have ships firing at each other is as unrealistic as planes flying. The Monaghan which is in game sank in Typhoon Cobra. If you want to be realistic no one would fire a weapon or maneuver in a cyclone

If everyone wants the game that real then how about game ends as soon as a cyclone appears. It was something they added to make the game more interesting. Also stop looking for tons of ways to nerf a ship class they already starting to nerf dd's soon and the rn Bb's  you nerf one ship they will look for ways to ner.... Balance the others to make up for it.

CV can't attack during cyclone?

Then nobody else should. Fair is fair.

don't forget detonate. their planes should also detonate and while flying in close formation take out the closest 3 or 4 next to them.

As many stated before, why not have other ships affected by cyclones? Multiple ships were damaged in Typhoon Cobra, with many destroyers sinking. Battleships got damaged in the Typhoon as well.
