Yup... make it a personal thing, you know, let the person neg the he** out of other people for whatever reason, applaud others but tell ya what... when you fight one of the best battles you've seen in a while, lose by only four points, getting hit with two negs blows seal chunks.

Still, I strive for zero so no matter... I feel bad for the little ones with limited vision.

Would it really be meaningful to remove a meaningless mechanic?

It's a safety valve that reduces chat abuse.

I know the feeling.  I have lost more karma when I played a really good game, than I have when I played a bad one.

People sometimes feel the need to vent after a game.  Karma gives then an outlet.  If it doesn't do anything, then whats the harm.

Plus it’s nice to complement people when they play a good game . Despite being reported for no reason it’s always nice to see someone complemented you when you played well doesn’t happen often but it’s still nice . So try and enjoy the complements and you know when you played bad so ignore every thing else .

My Karma lets me report 11 people a day instead of 7. That's a win.

I have about 130 karma because some people appreciated how I played my (old) Ryujo with my ability to scout, shadow, sink, fight, and cap. From what I can tell, the main use of karma is that at times it will allow you to "leave the battle early" because of your "good behavior". You can maybe do this one or two times before getting Pink.

The positive gets weird too.

This past Sunday I had a pretty mediocre day.  Karma went up 3 points.

I guess people liked me being the meatshield for the team.

What I don't get is, sometimes karma drops with no message, and sometimes it goes up with no message.  It would be more helpful if you always got a message so you know when it came up.  Was it the CV game I played, or the BB game, or what.

The message seems to come randomly.

Ultimately I think they have to leave Karma as meaningless, because there are people who will report you on the dumbest things.  "CV is cancer, I report any CV I see".  "You play a flint and sit in smoke, reported!".  "Its a day that ends in Y, REPORTED!!!"

In a game where most players think teamwork means the team going where they are, and not them going where the team is.....

that's exactly how it works - allow to blow steam of frustration... (especially if you consider amount of around 40% ppl in hi-tier matches nowadays)

and on the other hand - getting triggered by inadequate reaction... meh...

Were you playing a CV?  Some players do not appreciate CV's in games as you can tell from a few forum threads.

I wanna say that there is no negative karma message but there is a positive karma message. If you want to be sure you might get good karma, make sure you tell others who you give good karma that you are giving it to them and they may give you karma back. That is how I got 130 karma.

...Most? But I've usually followed where the team was going my whole WoWS career. Maybe because I played slow dreadnoughts early on...

If receiving negative karma made you feel strongly enough that you came to the forum to take a swing back at it, I'd say it's doing something.

can I use this phraseology to insinuate that the CV rework is doing something?

I consider negative feedback a job well done. I consider positive feedback a better job well done

But if someone is behind the tree, it invalidates the whole "but no one is there to hear it" clause.

Good point. Guess karma's not going away due to paradoxical issues!
