Ode to my Troll

Here is a ditty, to my very own Troll

Who lives underground, a shy, soulless mole

And rarely comes out of his troll hidey hole

A sadly unloved anti-social old troll.

He only comes out, whenever I write

He only comes out in the dead of the night

He only comes out to distribute his spite

On the words I lay down in the threads that I write

But he doesn’t say “Hey, this is right, this is wrong!”

He doesn’t leave prose, and he doesn’t leave song

He won’t even tell me to just move along

My ideas too short and my words just too long

No he only comes out to down vote my post

While others applaud, and will sometimes toast

My efforts he constantly, silently roasts

With an unhappy smiley face, grim as a ghost

He plies through the Forum, and hits every thread

He posts those sad faces with hats on their heads

Or even an angry one with cheeks that are red

And sends every post to it’s down voted bed

So here is my ode, to my very own troll

Who hides every day in his troll hidey hole

He won’t drop his name, the sad little mole

Just down votes my threads, the silly old troll

Sorry bro, if another man drives you to write poetry, you got other problems.

@Umikami  I only down vote you if you deserve it:cap_popcorn:

You probably have farmed more up votes from me though

Your troll inspired you enough to write a poem.  I'd say they're winning.

Not derailing the thread, but watched "Darkest Hour" with my wife last year. Really good movie. Gary Oldman did a fantastic job portraying Churchill.

And there's a reason I consider him one of the greatest men to have ever lived.

No, it is called poetic inspiration.

Excessive downvotes once drove me to poetry too.

You have posted before about this. Two thoughts:

1. The more you go on about it, the more you let you troll know you’re upset. You’re egging him on.

2. Or you want to make others jealous because you have your own personal troll and the rest of us don’t.

I am so not upset about it; I am reveling in my creativity and lovin' very minute of it! THIS was FUN!

That sounds a lot more like me, to be honest.

I have my own personal troll(s) too so I am empathic.

Love/hate right?

Yes excellent movie. Gary Oldman is my favorite actor. Favorite movies he has done, True Romance and The 5th Element!

Sonnet - for a Troll

The troll stands fast, lit in lucent fire

Above the censured vales joined in rising sleep

On the threaded flanks of that airy spire

Aloft from a RL where the shadows weep.

Perhaps they still gaze from that pixel redoubt

As again, the dark legions lay siege to its height:

Will its beacon abjure to darkness without

Or rising, viral, rend the shrouds of night?

Creep then now, runners of trollish shade

And in canting worship of the Net's despair,

Unleash the blind host in unholy crusade

For the light yet burns in the forum's air:

As again, turning, I saw an iris of fire eclipse,

The tenebrous Troll, in bright-rimmed apocalypse.

5th Element is definitely #1 for me & True Romance is #3 but Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead takes #2. If you haven't seen it check it out...it's a parody on 2 Shakespeare characters from Hamlet..."Heads...heads...heads...heads...heads..."
