Detection bug that was fixed a couple patches ago

Pretty much what it says, I was curious if there was any news about this "bug." I know at one point Wg said they were looking into implementing it as a game mechanic and wasnt sure about any further development. Unfortunately I started playing while this bug was around, and had since gotten used to firing, ducking behind an island and reappearing undetected, and as such still do occasionally.
