It'll eventually return, along with all the other carriers that were removed.

Except Bogue, apparently.

To slow and fat like me, so nobody liked it, apparently.

Perhaps my similar profile is why I liked and got along so well with Bogue.

Most played ship, (still,) most played carrier.

I had a captain training on Enterprise for Essex.

I didn't always do well in Essex but she grew on me enough that by the time I researched Midway, I was planning on keeping her.

Also, I did work on one of her sisters, so I suppose that's another reason why I too would like her back.

I just want RTS back :v was a better system.

I wouldn’t disagree, though I doubt it will ever happen.

I had to sell my CV after failing multiple time to learn the new interface, they should at least make it an option to play RTS or whatever this garbage is feels too arcade-y

Well, Escort Carriers really weren't fleet combatant carriers, because they were too slow.  They were built as convoy escorts, and thus didn't need to have great speed, same as Destroyer Escorts (DE, as opposed to DDEs which were a different animal entirely).  Even in those rare occasions when CVEs were used for duties other than convoy escorting, it was for something like supporting ground troops, rather than tying the faster fleet carriers and light carriers to that duty.  That's why there were CVE's present at one of the engagements during Leyte Gulf.  They were their to support the invasion troops.

The garbage is the RTS.  These CVs play no differently than the rest of the ships, because you're out on the battlefield with those ships, not sitting in the CIC on a CV looking down on a damned map table.

nah the new system is garbage, it feels like they took Warplanes and crammed it down cv players throats.

No, the new system is outstanding!  Sure, some of the details need massaging, but it's VASTLY better than that rancid RTS garbage.  There never has been and never will be any RTS game that's good because the underlying concept of RTS is crap.

Just as a matter of curiosity Crucis, would you mind RTS as much in some kind of single player strategic computer game? (Online or stand alone.)

It seems I’m an odd duck, as ever. I can’t stand the new system for many of the reasons others cite as reasons they like it. (I function better in a CIC environment. Never have been good at games requiring fast reactions. Ships are relatively slow paced, and carriers used to be, but aren’t any more.)

I liked the Bogue too. Even when you had options on load out. Normal, Air Superiority, Strike.

Way too much going on with the new system, if I'm commanding a small air force I want a top down view to see what everything is doing and what needs what level of support

RTS is like someone said it's like the game of chess but playing in a fast environment and not knowing what the other players think or play style even on your team. And fast thinking and critical decisions making. I have played many other RTS games. The version that WG made RTS was over kill design. So no one with the time to master it where over run and the players to the CV game also. The who could master it where one's who have no personal life or have better wifi at there jobs or work at home. Or had some mods to help them.

then why not just make it an option to use RTS or this new system? RTS CV's will only be paired with RTS cv's, skill-less hacks using the new system can play against other skill-less hacks easy

Don’t know about that.

Not as good as some of the super RTS guys, but never really had trouble using RTS.

Except for rare exceptions, I never played carriers outside T4 and 5 in Randoms, (because I knew better than to try with my weak skills,) and then all tiers up to 8 in Co-op and OP’s.

Whenever Taiho returns, it just won't be as glorious as the old RTS 12 TB Taiho.  Even with my AA BBs in the old system, I did not like seeing that mass Taiho 12 TB strike coming at me.

At least Essex will feature Skyraiders.  It just doesn't work as well Midway using Skyraiders as the BTD Destroyers are somehow better planes than them.  You can get by using Skyraider DBs on Midway, though they're still worse.  But using Skyraider TBs on Midway instead of the BTDs is a massive drop in capability.  Fewer torpedoes dropped and you still have the same sh*tty Midway torps.

I will defend warplanes, the planes and missions there are better than the Current CVs

aside from essex they need to throw the yorktowns in as well. and yes i really do miss RTS control for carrier management over rework (rework feels too restricted and frustrating at times). in my opinion the ONLY useful thing rework ever gave to us carrier skippers was unlimited planes and that was it (autopilot still has its fair share of problems though). plus looking at Crucis' profile he mainly is a destroyer skipper (which can explain why he is so salty about carriers) don't get me wrong destroyers are just as good as all the other ships it's just that you need a special type of skipper to drive those "Noisy Cricket" ships (players like crucis are those types of skippers who know how to use destroyers to maximum effect might i add!). small ship BIG damage, REALLY BIG DAMAGE!
