Ive ben playing battle stations pacific and saw that some times like in wot the ammo storage gets hit. Kiling or badly damageing a ship. So i saw it was'nt on the F.A.Q and will there be ammo storage detonations?

Yes, I would say they would most likely make it to where it would immediately kill you like the ammo rack in WoT because there were some extremely big magazine explosions in WWI to WWII Era and the HMS Hood is a prime example due to how it was, the stern area was sheared in half, then you have the IJN Musashi where she had a giant explosion blowing the ship into chunks of steel and metal, back on topic, if they did it that way it would be realistic but there were smaller versions of it that extremely damaged said section of the ship or damaged the ship to the point of being inoperable status and unable to use main armaments or had there engines blown up and stopped the ship from moving and eventually sunk by an enemy warship via torpedoes.

Since they have it in World of Tanks they will definitely have it in WoWs. Besides, Hood, Queen Mary, Arizona, some of the biggest battles in history involved magazine explosions. To leave that factor out would be folly lol.

Besides, they mentioned this in the FAQ

I feel that additional information should be given. In World of Tanks, if an enemy shot penetrates the tank's armor and hits its ammo rack, there is a chance of it detonating in a one-hit kill or simply being damaged where it then takes longer to reload.

In World of Warships, the same model will probably apply, but a slow reload speed will only apply to the turret that relies on that particular ammunition storage compartment.

Furthermore, in WoWs, ammo isn't the only thing that can one-hit kill your ship! It had been stated at one point that if your boilers are hit, they can detonate your ship, too!

Another fact you may like to hear is that if your ship has the integrity of its hull compromised at any of three approximately evenly spaced points along its length (that is, your ship is divided into four sections), your ship can break in two! Your ship can also break apart in this manner when it hits 0 HP.

This is something of an overstatement. A boiler, even at high pressure, if damaged would simply vent the high pressure steam into the engine compartment, damaging whatever else happened to be in it and killing the crew in a rather gruesome manner. However, a boiler does not have the potential for a truly catastrophic explosion with effects like the ones suffered by Arizona or Hood. At worst you get a cascade at wipes out a significant part of your propulsion.

An interesting note, the Naval War College came up with 2 damage models to predict the effects of large caliber hits on ships. The first a deterministic model which stated that after suffering 9 hits from a 14 inch gun, a battleship would be crippled and would sink after 18 hits. Though this model did not often reflect the experiences of battle so they developed an stochastic model. This model assumes that penetrating hits have little effect unless they do catastrophic damage, such as hitting a magazine or a engine room. On average a ship's armored citadel was composed of 20% machine space and 23% magazine space, therefore a penetrating hit had a 23% chance to destroy a battleship outright. The College believed that the stochastic model better reflected combat experience such as the Seydlitz surviving 21 heavy caliber shell hits at Jutland while the Indefatigable was sunk catastrophically after 4 to 5 hits, Or the Hood succumbing to a single slavo while the Bismarck absorbed a reported 400 hits before having to be sunk via torpedo fire.

::cough::.. Mutsu... Mutsu.. Mutsu - the question should be.. will there be ammo detonations while still in harbour ;)

[keeping very quiet about WW1 era harbour detonations.... ]

umm....Remember the Maine?

(I know, still no truly known cause for her explosion, just being facetious)

There is fairly strong evidence that the Bismarck was actually scuttled, though she was a floating wreck, and would have eventually sunk regardless, so it doesn't really matter.

German ships were astoundingly well-protected against gunfire at medium-to-short range.

Order Measure V!, I hope they let us do that in game.
BTW here is a really good piece written about Bismarck, it's well cited.

The short answer: Yes, there will always be a chance of taking a magazine hit since most ships have more then just one magazine.

Long answer: The chances of a magazine hit occurring depends mainly on what angle the shell comes in at.  Most war ships have two (simplified) types of armor, Deck and Side.  Deck armor helps to defend a ship from long range fire at a high angle called "Plunging Fire".  While a ships main armor is its side armor, this tends to be thicker and is meant to defend the ship from shells fired at a low angle.

Most of the time when you hear of a ship taking a magazine hit, that ship was at longer ranges and taking plunging fire.  The shells have impacted the deck and penetrated and then made their way into the magazine that is typically below the waterline.

Another key factor in a magazine explosion, one that plagued the British navy at the battle of Jutland, was improper handling of powder. A magazine has many safe guards to protect it from damage and explosion in the turret that it is connected to. The British sailors in order to get munitions to the guns faster were bypassing these safties, leaving fire proof doors open and stockpiling powder wehre it should not be stockpiled. The result was that ships taking a hit that should have only disabled a turret, exploded due to a chain reaction of powder leading directly back to the magazine.

might be a fun option in the game. bypass safties to give yourself an increased rate of fire.

Should also be interesting to see if ships explode as they capsize, such as HMS Barham or Yamato as what assumed shells toppling off their racks in their capsize causing magazines to explode. Will it be every ship in game or the classic WoT style every tank blows up.
