I've seen this so often it is not rare, especially in the last 3 days. BB's charging into areas too soon & getting themselves sunk before the 1st escort ship goes down. NO! I'm not suggesting BB's snipe all game long. I am wondering why they are not using their range advantage to avoid the swarm of torpedoes from the vanguard ships and the focus fire of the ships out of the northwest. I'm driving my Dallas & within 11km of the enemy & I have 2 BB's between me & the enemy. They were both sunk then bickered back & forth in chat blaming each other & the rest of the team for not supporting them. Excuse me, I don't support yoloing ships, I have a ops to win. The team needs the big guns against the 3 BB's necessary for another star. Also a BB's can absorb torpedoes & shell fire better than any other ship. Sometimes it is necessary to take torpedoes to get the transports home. As I stated in the beginning this is more common in the last 3 days.

Then there are the truely bizzarre games when six or eight battleships spawn on the northern line when it's just time for the usual three (two west middle, one east,) and I have no idea why it happens...

Most of the time when that happens, what the player battleships did, or if they're still alive and didn't die, it doesn't matter.

I saw a strategy video for this Op at some point where they drew a red circle on the far center north part of the map and said "never go here". Every time I see the Amagi show up in this pile there is a friendly ship at or near this area. I can't prove it's true, but it does seem highly coincidental. I started calling this the "penalty spawn".

I don't know what triggers those 3 BB's to spawn but sometimes they do. However the Kongo & Ishizuchi that spawn together everytime in the middle north & the Fuso that spawns in the northeast are the BB's I am referring to. Leaving one of these alive is the reason many Aegis are 4 star victories.

Farmville on water. :Smile_facepalm:

People are expecting to get carried thru Aegis and get an easy 80 stars, but so many of them are doing it, games are being lost.

A minimum of one ship every game is simply driving straight into fire and getting sunk, so they can start the next match.

With many randomly put together Operations teams, this is exactly what you're getting.

It's usually not cause the team leaves those BBs alive (sometimes they do), but it's rather the lack of time to kill them off before the transports makes it to the escape point.

Killing those escort convoys early reduces the amount time needed to kill all 3 BBs especially if you don't have a DD or even a cruiser at around the spawn point for the Kongo and Ishi.

I play with random teams and find when we kill the escort quickly & everyone is alive getting that 5th star is easier. I've also been on teams that waited to sink the escorts and then focused on the 3 BB's allowing the cruisers & DD's that spawn in the northeast to close in on the transports and sink them just before they reach the safe zone.

Those battleships I call the "Extra Battleships" in my discussion video and all verified data so far point to the extra battleships being player spawned. Just some videos to show.

Discussion Video

Intentional Spawn

Accidental Spawn

And here is the image showing the spawn box for the extra battleships.

I hope this helps everyone learn what not to do.

Last five games in Ranger weren’t to bad, two were five stars where the idiot Schors even managed not to get sunk.

I think you should get a star for fragging the Schors. Yesterday the Schors turned back to the west side of the map to get sunk, out of range for anyone to rescue him.

If you get there before the 5 escort  ships are sunk they will spawn.

Why do BBs or any ship think they can head north at the start and live.

Like a couple of the other Ops, best murder machine for annoying bot outliers was an RTS carrier.

Especially the Izzy and Kongo, with their weaker AA, and Independence or Ryujo could make short work of at least one, which made things easier for the rest of the team.

Now? Not so much, but still possible, if DoT is kind and you can get a permanent fire or flood.

My best success though was going after the Fuso, and leaving the Izzy and Kongo to allies, as long as enough of them were still alive... 😑

People rush too much in BB during that Op.. I just sit back and slowly move up with the team and provide fire support lol

I am pretty sure you are talking about my video as no one else has made any significant content for scenarios that I know of. See my other post in this thread, though it is actually a rectangle rather than a circle.

You could well be correct, it's been awhile. In any case, it'd pay any player new to the Op to check out your vid or at least one of the Aegis play-through vids on YT.

Conversely who do greater sums of teams think its a good idea to go around the south island at the start
