How Azur Lane should have been handled.

- Small chance for commanders to drop in in-game crates.

- Individual commanders buyable.

- If random crates are necessary, no possibility of redundant drops - nobody should have to shell out $10 (or, God forbid, more) for a girl they already have.

- Exclusivity can be created by chaining Montpelier and Yukikaze to their respective ships - that's the only way to get them.

---

I'm lost on the design we have now - it's random in almost a punitive sense, it's designed exclusively with higher-end clientele in mind, and it's left a bad taste in my mouth regarding future purchases.

They will probably sell them individually at some point... they did for the first batch, just later on.

Will probably just get block two, maybe the low value Mont’p and Yuki, and just accept not getting Azuma.

Already have the block one girls, and an extra or three, so the mega-pack is seriously doa to me.

Already have doubles of all the ARP girls, don’t need to do that again with AL.

You do realise Azuma comes with completion of the current collection, don't you?

Actually no, I haven’t looked that closely at it yet. Hooray then.

Just be aware it's a long one - 36 pieces in 6 groups. Depending on whether you have the Azuma and desperately want a captain specialised for her (almost irrelevant in practical terms, given that she's a premium), you might want to consider using duplicates.

I gotta say, I know nothing about Azur Lane, but I hope they are keeping the Dorm port modifications, its the first port screen I've really enjoyed...love that thing, and the mouse circling the cat is funny.

I do not think the commanders that come in premium Azure Lane crates are chosen randomly.  I ended up with 4 Montpelier,  and 5 Neptune  captains.  Unless WG fixes this problem; I will not purchase any random items again.

There were NUMEROUS threads warning of this very thing.

I see they suckered you into a purchase anyways.

I had not read any thread on this subject.  I assume that most people and companies behave in a just and fair manner.  Perhaps I am to trusting but I am not a fool.

I think, at this point, people should be generally aware of this marketing department and its stunts.

I have lots of AL commanders even ones they haven't included like Brooklyn. You can mod them all in for free, nice and easy no $$$ spent.

There is another way of looking at it, you could look at all of the dragon flags those containers dish out as the main reward and the captains as a side reward. Admittedly that is an iffy justification, but sometimes you do want to restock on dragon flags and have half a hope of getting the captain you wanted (for the record, I actually didn't get the Prinz Eugen like I hoped, but I was happy with the restock of my dragon flags). I could afford the splurge and I took my chances. I'm mostly ok with the outcome, though 4 and 5 dupes in a row is a bit excessive. I'm just hoping the individual captains are put out for sale at some point, though not too soon as I need some time to refill the the spare spendin' money stores.

This must be your first Wargaming title. These guys aren't really known for their outstanding business practices... caveat emptor.

Then I am afraid it is YOUR problem for failing to do your research. I've been on these forums since very early in my involvement with the game. With the number of battles you have under your belt, I don't think you have any excuse.

My mistake on this Azur Lane process. The award of a little girl commander for the Hood , instead of the actual ship and a commander was  deceptive IMO. It did seem way too  easy, but they need to not make that kinda wording/bull/mistake. I suppose their ,might be some meaning about that character being on some anime Hood , but , I don't suppose many would see the connection unless they are familar with the show/comic/or whatever it is.
