Why do I get reported for calling people Kermits, Gonzos, Beakers, etc?

I'll take a stab at it... maybe people don't appreciate being raged at, even if the name you use is clearly a substitute for the one you mean.

Bozo, the Joker, Pennywise, don't matter.

Personally, I'm terrified of muppets.

While this is one of the more innocent things to call someone in a situation of unhappiness, just remember its not adding anything constructive to the chat.

Instead of calling names, explain a better course of action or explain why maybe what they did wasn't the best in the situation.

Work to solve the issue instead of instigate an argument.

A lot of people dont know what you are referencing and they think you are calling them bad names.

Whenever I hear somebody call somebody else a Muppet, I remember this classic behind the scenes video where Kermit & Fozzie point out to each other that they are both Muppetts

For the same reason I get chat banned for telling 4 ships to not go down the 10 line in a standard battle.

Telling the truth is something most never want hear.

Fem,

That would require people to actually want to improve and get better. Which is not the vibe I get with the massive swaths of high 30% and low 40% W/R muppets in every game mode.

Good One,  the first episode  , she got an Emmy for that , however she did have a working  connection to the Muppet's  from  The Electric Company and its close  association to PBS and Sesame Street,  . I think this one (third episode) put the Muppet Show  on the map, so to speak, Risque' from a whole different direction . The Muppet show was Broadway Variety not a children's show from day one.  Never missed an episode , unless I could not help it. One of the best shows ever on TV.

Because nobody, absolutely nobody, downloaded this game and started playing it in order to listen to you run your mouth. Are we perfectly clear on that?

If I could have a dollar for every downvote I've gotten in these forums for telling people truths they didn't want to hear, I could buy some more premium ships...

Often, it's not what you say....but how you say it.

its a chat window, a horrible chat window, its not like you can put enough inflection into typed words unless people are just offended at ALL CAPITAL LETTERS

Fem,

Sorry, Fem, but experience has shown that trying to explain a better course of action is an utter waste of time, probably 90-95% of the time.  There's more satisfaction to be had by ripping the fool a new aft exhaust than there is in knowing that 90-95% of the time, they'll either ignore you or insult you for offering advice.  And frankly when the chances of getting satisfaction from throwing insults is greater than the chances that your advice will be accepted and followed, then you're whistling past the graveyard trying to tell people that insults aren't constructive if one gets satisfaction from doing so and none from offering advice.

You want people to offer advice instead of insults, then get the people to whom the advice is being given to LISTEN to it and TAKE that advice.  Not that it's ever likely to happen.

When you get told to bleep yourself repeatedly over the years for merely suggesting that BB team mates really should angle his ship to reduce the damage he takes, you get super jaded and learn that it's a total waste of time trying to help those who aren't asking for it.  :Smile-angry:
