While playing CV, I've learnt quite a lot. These are my attempts to share this knowledge and these ideas with the community.

So, is there a simple beginner CV guide, "These are the basic controls"?  Something I can take into a Training Room?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe it will give you a popup at the start of your first match saying this. I don't know if it will do this in the training room, however.

That said, the controls are very much the same as on a normal ship save for a couple changes. To move while in plane form, open the map to set a waypoint. Shift+click to set up to 5 at a time, setting up a path. Keep in mind to avoid 90 degree angles or tighter, as the movement often tries to go in reverse if you aren't careful.

As for the controls proper, double tap 1, 2 or 3 to summon a given squad type. M1 starts an attack run as well as fires when ready. Ship consumables are automatic, but plane consumables are manual. You steer with WASD and mouse. Yes, you steer with mouse. Yes, it's hard to get used to, but it's useful for fine movement while aiming, as you need to turn while aiming.

W increases speed, S reduces it, that said.

Other than that, I'm pretty sure everything else is the same.

Yes, I got the pop-up.

I see nothing about how to call fighters (if Langley squadrons actually can).

Rocket and DB aiming are learnable, but I'm totally hopeless with torps.  I aim where the cone says and miss by a mile.

Ship movement I understand.  Waypoints don't work for planes?

I figured out plane speed control, I think, but where and when to use it?

Oh, and the very small indicators to the lower right, next to the F key icon?  What are those?  Squadron status?

Maybe there's a YT vid somewhere.  Thanks for the help.
