Around 360,000 to 400,000 Coal

Spoiler

The Math

  • Bourgogne, T10BB: 30,000 Steel
  • Stalingrad, T10CA: 27,000 Steel
  • Black, T9DD: 14,000 Steel
  • Flint, T7CL: 11,600 Steel
  • Missouri, T9BB: 750,000 FXP
  • Kronstadt, T9CA: 750,000 FXP
  • Musashi, T9BB: 750,000 FXP
  • Salem, T10CA: 240,000 Coal
  • Jean Bart, T9BB: 228,000 Coal

Inflation Happens

  • Neustramy, T9DD: 20,500 Steel (1.46x more than Black)
  • Alaska, T9CA: 1,000,000 FXP (1.33x more than other T9 FXP ships)
  • Azuma, T9CA: 1,000,000 FXP (1.33x more than other T9 FXP ships)

Yoshino, T10CA
But, it's supposed to fit into the same "segment" as Stalingrad, not Salem. Ergo, we take Stalingrad's price and convert that into Coal. So we have a base price of 270,000 Coal and then we multiply that by the going inflation rate of 1.33x~1.46x and end up with a price of 360,000~400,000 Coal.

But, of course, this is all speculation at this point, so if we're lucky, Yoshino has zero inflation and will be priced at around 270,000 Coal.

So, place your bets. Non-inflated price, somewhat inflated price or very inflated price?

It really does not matter.  You either have enough coal, or don’t.  If you don’t have enough coal, it’s just a matter of time.

I lean towards the higher cost on Yoshino.  Also, the fact that they raised the STEEL price for Neustrawhatever that much was very surprising to me.  Steel isn't a common resource.  I have a buddy that does all Clan Battles he can participate in and Ranks out every Season.  And even he's not happy about the price hike on Neustrawhatever.

Currently, Bourgogne is the most expensive Steel Ship in the game right now, more than even Stalingrad.

30k Steel Bourgogne x 1.46 = 43,800 Steel for the next Tier X Steel Battleship.

Right, let's triplicate the amount of exp needed for all tech tree ships. It won't matter if they don't have enough exp, it's just a matter of time.. maybe they even get a sense of pride and accomplishment :cap_hmm:

If we consider the inflation rate itself is inflating.......

Plz no

270k coal is expansive enough.

There has been speculation on the EU forums for the last month or two that the price will be around the 300-350k coal so I wouldn't be that shocked.

If they justified the price of Neustrawhatever with "there's more steel in the game than before" then you can sure see that Yoshino will be alot higher than the Salem.

inflation/
Many of us are flush with free xp, coal and steel/ (the latter devalued by the decision to sell steel in the premium shop - via missions)

Hey

Just means that many people won't buy it, and it will start turning people off from this game.  Which is happening already/

Pete

I'm fine with the price hike on FreeXP ships, but Coal and Steel are a lot harder, slower to acquire, especially Steel.

I would say more than 280k coal but less than 400k or 375k coal.

Jean Bart is basically a uptier Richelieu but better and cost more than Musashi which is a T10 but worst.

Salem is basically a copy paste of DM with gimmick change.

Yoshino is a "brand new ship", you could say it's the premium version of a premium ship. Plus she's a "supercruiser" not a regular cruiser or DD or BB. I would be surprise if she "only cost " 40k more than Salem but she isn't worth more than 375k.

Hey

There comes a point where people who have played this game for a while will no longer see value in purchasing these ships due to their costs, especially when they don't perform any better or that much different from a tech tree ship which is free to earn much easier.  Sometimes the tech tree ship does better simply because it doesn't get focused as quickly, run your Kron, Alaska or Azuma and see how they under perform, get focused over any other tech tree T9 cruiser.   Having an exclusive limited ship doesn't grant you immunity.  Steel earning is much slower, and I don't even waste my time with it, since it's earned so slow, why bother.  Even FreeXP seems to be slower to earn these days, even when running flags.
