(My honest mistake. It's just florins that go away tomorrow. You still have the entirety of 0.8.3 to decide how to spend your ironium.)

What if we just want to watch Ironium convert into Credits as a Protest against meh rewards and overly grindy missions?
Because most of the stuff that can be got with Ironium is kind of junk and the amount of grinding to get any amount of the currency was painful.

I spent my vast account of Florins tonight.  Flags flags and more flags, as there was sod-all else to buy.

Ironium?  Probably Premium and flags.

Oh well, too bad the space mode held no appeal for me. Think I played maybe ten games; none of the first mode and none of the third mode.

Second mode was barely of any greater interest to me.

The torpedobeats was actually chaotic fun. Kinda like early days of WoWS when people didn’t know what they were doing or how to aim torps...

Because as we all know, the server reset is early on the morning of the nominal last day.

If you do not spend them, they will convert to credits.

I would recommend picking up a 10 point captain or two if you have enough for that but don't have enough for one of the unique upgrades, and spend the small change on Sci-Fi Space camos. The other flags you can buy with ironium are handed out in resource crates so often they're not worth spending anything to get them.

Are you sure you don't mean florins? Ironium seems to be available until 5/28...

Yeah, Florins are done today, but Ironium runs to 5/28/2019 in game. Makes me wonder if 8.3 will be 5 weeks long from 4/24/2019 to 5/29/2019.

Patch day is scheduled for tomorrow, and given other people's previous bitter experiences you can never be too certain.

The earning opportunities finish tonight, in any case; better to spend it now and not overlook it later.

We expect patch day to be tomorrow because the Space Battles calendar ends there and WG wants to do 4 week cycles. Until we get patch notes today, we can't 100% be sure. If we don't get patch notes today, then who knows? It could be next Wednesday in that scenario.

I do not think the patch is going to drop and I think we're going to (shortly) get an announcement for a delay. The Russian BB's just went through another set of major changes and early access was supposed to coincide with the start of the Victory event, the main (and almost only) part of this patch. If they are not ready to release, even in an early access state (which they very much are not) there is no point in putting out the patch. I suspect a 2 week delay announcement in the next few hours.

Well, the early access is apparently a way to further do some testing with a wider group. Every time WG has early access ships, they do say that they can change. So I don't necessarily think that means that the patch will be delayed. I would not be surprised if it was delayed though.

Yes but they haven't yet done that. RN BB's, RN DD's, RN CL's, French BB's, and USN Cruisers did not undergo any changes post-'release' as early access with the very small exception to the Carpet bombers on 2 RN CV's (which can largely be chalked up to the simultaneous CV rework). Generally, they do not change. Which makes sense: the vast vast majority of these early access ships are, in effect, purchased through lootboxes. As a result, WGing's innate fear to not alter purchased ships, the early access is just that, early access, not an extended beta.

As such, I find it highly unlikely the RU BB early access will start this week. And as such, the patch, which is PRIMARILY focused around those BB's and the early access, might as well not take place either (it would start on Friday after all). Otherwise there is nothing to GET out of the Victory Competition. The new Commander JUST got announced this weekend is is highly unlikely to be part of the release (and was not tested in the PTS). RU BB's are not ready. No new flags. Only a few new permanent camos and most of them are focused on the RU BB's. So it would seem unlikely the event would start this week. And if that 's the case, the whole patch is a wash as there is very little to this particular patch.

Since the early access ships can be picked up in the free boxes, I don't think WG is as worried about this as you think. I believe the player base is putting too much into the 'purchase' of tech tree ships this way.

The new unique Cmdr is not slated for this update at all. He would be in 8.4 at the earliest.

I'm certain I'm going to end it 20 Ironium short of a legendary module...Should have suffered through a few more of the ridiculous space battles earlier.     Probably going to miss knocking off my stars as well.. Too much going on and playing CVs too much.  I am starting to figure out playing them even half competently result in much longer games...    Nicer weather leaves no room for long grinds on weekends.    Which leaves me a harder go accomplishing win required tasks in my limited time to play.

Point still stands they are not ready for release. Not only days after a major rebalance that dramatically effects performance.

I... said that... not sure what restating my point accomplishes; there is very little to this patch other than 3 Prem camos and a new skin for Yamato. As such, if the RU BB's are not ready, I would assume a delay.

The Victory event will last more than one patch.

And what do you do for the first patch cycle during it? There's nothing to trade the currency for other than the normal signal flags and 3 premium camos for T8 ships. The RU BB's are the centre piece of the event and without them, it might as well not exist.

There will be a LOT of people who want the perma-camos. If the event goes three patches, then only two of them can be the release of ships. One for early access and one for the full line.

There's only 3, only 1 of which is on a ship with substantial amounts of games played in (Kiev). The other two Chapy and Ognevoi are in the bottom 10% of least played T8 ships, of any class and the Ognevoi is one of the least played SHIPS. So point of fact I doubt those prem camos are terribly attractive to the vast majority of players as the vast majority of players have shown no attraction to the ships wearing them. To say nothing of focusing an entire patch cycle around *3* premium camos is about as lackluster as you get, ESPECIALLY for a Russian focused event. I can totally see delaying 2 weeks for a PROPER release (to make the first Russian event an extravaganza) than to rush into a lackluster event no one cares about. Launches are super important and a wet fart in the beginning largely kills it.

Well, it's a moot point now as the 8.3 patch notes are out and it is coming out tomorrow.

Alternative perspective: I won a Kiev camo and 10 point pre-specialised captain for the Kiev during the Halloween event. I played it on PTS and thought it was a blast, so I thought what the heck, I'll suffer the Russian destroyers and grind my way up to it. Turned out not to be much in the way of suffering; I liked the Gnevny so much I bought permacamo for it, and then they let us win one for the Minsk (which I have).

To grind up to a ship just because I have a permacamo for it does seem a bit like the tail wagging the dog, and some might see it as WG twirling its evil moustache at having tricked me into grinding and playing more, but it's broadened my horizons in the game and I'm having a great time in the process.

So... I have two different free permacamos for the Kiev already, but if they want to toss me one for the Ognevoi and the Chapayev as well, I'm not going to complain. Some DD mains might, for putting one more radar cruiser on the playing field eventually, but that is its own argument.
