Very much interested in this. I have a youtube dedicated to WOWs. I have tour nearly all the US based museum ships and re-visit them frequently (my job allows me this opportunity). There are many aspects of the ship models in game that are incorrect. Equipment missing, in the wrong place, oriented the wrong way, etc. I would love to contribute in an quasi official manner to this game and the history I love so much.

Good going, I hope they heed your advise, and or information to better model the ships.

Excellent news, I hope you do not forget the Latin American community there are currently a lot of Hispanic league users. For WoWs only one CC @Talleyrand who creates content for Spanish. that does an excellent job especially about possible Pan-American ships and projects. https://reportedebatalla.wordpress.com/

Thank You Zproxy! But I must admit thay I'm doing less content than years before. The new baby takes most of my time. Nevertheless I'm working in a few things. Next will be "History of the Battleships" and it will be released in text and in Video as well.

I would like to nominee to @LittleWhiteMouse. The content she bring is top notch Quality. A Must-Read for any other CC and anyone intrested in knowing more and playing better his ships.

Does being a dedicated forum annoyance count? From wiki : "The privateers themselves were often simply annoying forumites who would take advantage of wars between forum factions to gain semi-legal status for their enterprises." I wouldn't mind having some sort of semi legality/ :Smile_child:

oh well, nevermind.

After editing most of the aircraft carrier pages on the wiki, I find this program very important. It's been like two months since the rework and none of Hosho, Langley, Ranger, Lexington, Shokaku, Hakuryu wiki pages were updated. So I updated them as a fan of CVs. Also, there were several problems that I couldn't correct myself. Consult the following.

  1. There is no 'Template:Repair' consumable for  the torpedo bombers
  2. There is no "Template:Fighter" consumable for the CV "Fighter I" consumable
  3. The captain skills template isn't displaying the correct number of stars for 'Air Supremacy' skill (and the code mismatches with the skill names so no idea what is going on there)
  4. The captain skills on the wiki for 'Torpedo Expertise' is outdated: stating the skill reduces servicing of the torpedo bombers.  image.thumb.png.07fe7442957560385e40f7a58ce9ff21.png

If you guys are running this program and keep the contents up to date, I suggest that these problems be addressed.

@Carbapenem_17 has done good work on the wiki.  Some recognition wouldn't be amiss.

BTW, those bugs have been fixed.

We are excited to announce the introduction of the World of Warships Privateers Program!

This initiative will reward and salute members of the community that we identify as contributing in ways other than just content creation.

The sort of players the Privateer Program will include could be:

  • event organizers.
  • model makers.
  • wiki editors etc.
  • volunteer moderators.
  • People we believe add and contribute to the World of Warships community and deserve this reward and recognition.

Benefits of the Privateers Program:

  • Will be issued this swashbuckingly good looking insignia (shown above)
  • A distinctive and suitably heroic in-game patch (right)
  • As well as a in-game flag to signal their prestigious status (left)
  • Access to a dedicated Discord with access to the World of Warships Development team to aid and assist them in continuing their outstanding efforts
  • Early access to upcoming content

Privateers2.pngFlag.png

This will not be an application-based system but one where regional teams will reach out directly to candidates they identify.

Thank you all for making the World of Warships community what it is and keep a weather eye for these new marauders in game.

Action Stations!

Nice outreach effort.  My compliments.  :-)

Will the Privateers also recieve "Letters of Marque"?  :-)

Since beginning to play WoWs, and thinking would be a very simple game, then banging my head against a brick wall, getting sunk quickly and horrible statistics I "stumbled" across the WoWs Wiki site.    I began to read it online and then decided much of it I would like to have in print form so I could pull it and read it anytime I wanted to, or to quickly refresh my memory.   What I ended up with was a 3 inch, 3 ring binder, tabbed by nation, then ship type , and Tier with every ship's datasheet, many with my highlighted info added and a master INDEX.   I especially found the overview of how each nation's DD's, Cr's, BB's,  & CV's play with strong and weak points of that nation.   Then a 2 inch 3 ring binder with Master INDEX, Tabbed, with everything in the "How To Play" WoWs from the Wiki Page.    I added a 4 inch 3 ring binder for every printed our Test of WoWs ships, mostly by the suburb LWM again by nations.

Back in the day as a Marine Pvt to Gunny I often dealt with tables of organization, equipment, technical publications and then learned to write up results of tests performed, suggested new changes to how units were organized, equipped, or operated.   Then during my 25 years in Law Enforcement, I developed, wrote, supervised and reported our Federal Grant proposals and those we were awarded.   All in all, this gives me a better than average insight and understanding of all that is involved in writing and maintaining, via changes, such an immense volume of information that the WoWs Wiki Site contains.    This site is vital to World of Warships and all who play or seek information about any facet of our beloved game.

Those little known, certainly unsung, contributors who toil so others can learn, better their play/game skills,  help players truly learn the game are long overdue for recognition by WoWs and those of us who play and use WoWs Wiki with little to absolutely no thought of all that goes into maintaining this site.    If I was not so heavily committed to the operations of 2 clans I would have offered to help a little, but simply do not have the time.   (A time-worn excuse I'm sure)     In fact, when one truly examines the WoWs Wiki site with any degree of understanding they quickly see what a vast undertaking and accomplishment this site is, even more so when we know it was VOLUNTEERS who pulled the plow's, seeded and tended this crops until it began to feed us.    I even take note of the staggering cost that WoWs would have had to pay out if those volunteers had been paid employees, certainly in the millions of dollars!

WoWs, why not give a gift of Doubloons to each of those who have contributed to Wiki in relation to the amount they contributed!

I will certainly add my humble recommendations for AdmiralThunder and Taylor3006. Both have been a great source of public and private information.

This makes me think of a couple guys right off the bat,   Kizarvexis,  Taylor3006AdmiralThunderLightninger, and Lord_Zath.

These guys are awesome and helped me try to get better at the this game. They are very informative. Plus, they do not make degrading or polarizing posts on this forum. Always upbeat.

Yes I have to agree with this. I speak from personal experience on the first three they go out of their way to help the community, even grumpy old sailors like me.

Privateers is not designed for Content Creators. You would not be eligible for this program from your creation avenues.
