Help Picking a Legendary Mod

So I will almost have enough Ironium to get a Legendary Mod. I may do those special missions that cost 5k doubloons to get a second one as well. Which one is worth getting?

I have: Zao, Yammy, Conq, Daring, Mino, DM, Monty, Wooster, Hindy, GK, Repub, Henri IV.

Here's the math done for you, so you can more easily see how +x% and -y% affect the stats. I only have the DM mod, just got it, so all my recommendations are based on the math. Some players with the mods have posted their thoughts, so do read those to help inform the math.

@Kizarvexis gave you the basics, but ultimately the choice comes down to you preferred play style.  If you like to snipe, then the Yamato mod might be a good option; if you like to brawl the Montana, G. Kurfurst, and Hindenburg are good choices. 

I can safely say not to get the Daring upgrade (as there isn't one.)

For cruisers I would highly recommended to DM legendary. I gives the ship dd like acceleration if you use propulsion mod in 3 slot and makes it a ship that can get out of a tough situation very fast. I bought the Salem just so I can play it with longer range and with super heal to contrast to super mobility and shorter range on the legendary DM

Oh yeah, look at the math, get opinions and then decide what fits you. Note, the UUs are supposed to be side grades instead of straight up buffs. Do note what other upgrades go in the same slot as the UU.

Yet. :) I expect that the new UUs, were delayed as the rework was going to change the meta. The War-cess-ter was the last one as if was buffing the consumables.

Consider a ship you don’t have?  I got the Moskva UU - I have the ship researched, just waiting for a sale to come along.  The T10s I have I’ve made some progress on their UU missions, it wouldn’t be as much of a time saver there.

I have the currency needed now but I am also undecided.  What I do know is that I am going to pick a ship that I DON'T like grinding and buy it for that one.  No point in using the currency to buy one for a ship that I don't mind doing the grind on the normal way.

I kinda like that thinking, but if you don’t want to play the ship, why bother at all?  None of the UUs strike me as turning a turkey into a swan.

I agree.  I could say for clan wars but I am not sure that is a good answer either.  The only excuse I have is gotta collect the things.

Just remember everyone, you only have until 8.3 drops, likely Wed, April 24th if the calendar and schedule hold, so you can not take too long to decide. You have a roughly 8 days to go if the schedule holds.

My vote is YAMMY, Zao, and GK. 

Yammy is better accuracy at the cost of turret rotation so unless you are playing a secondary build yammy this is perfect for most tank builds.

GK is a 2ndary build specialist with less penalty then the one offered and gives a reload boost to the main armament as well.

The Zao is just nasty. Being able to turn quicker will allow you to use your range in ways similar to the Mogami in terms of ducking BB shells.

Based on my play style...

 

Zao - worth it. Makes you harder to hit. Shoot-and-scoot, dodge-and-weave, it all makes you harder to hit. It doesn't make you immune to damage obviously, but it does help. This seems to be the most difficult LM for the enemy to adapt to.

Conqueror - very much worth it. Once you get the hang of it, you can actually fight the Conqueror against two opponents at the same time; one with the front guns, one with the aft guns. The speedy turret traverse makes it work very well. I've tried this with Montana too, but it's more difficult with the slower turrets (possible, but more difficult).

Mino - Not really. I don't notice when I have it, I don't notice when it's gone. I didn't think it was worth the grind once I got it, but I suppose getting it for ironium is a better deal then the grind.

Hindy - Worth it, but less so than the others. Makes a tanky ship even tankier. 

Des Moines - Probably the best LM there is (at least, for me). There have been times when drifting forward and backward next to an island, when the enemy has had a really hard time hitting me. (If you play the Strong Female Protagonist version, I think it would be less useful.) But for me the DM has been the best of the Legendary Modules.

Personally, I can't play my DM without the Unique Upgrade anymore. It just gives it so much of an advantage in repositioning and maneuvering. I don't have a Yamato, but people say the upgrade is a must have. The only other ships I use the UU for is Zao and Henri. For Zao, I'm fine without it. For Henri, the quicker reload is great for long range team support.

DM one is kinda pointless, personally. You give up way too much for it.

Yeah -- about a year back, Notser and Flamu both did YouTube vids discussing the various merits or lack thereof of all the legendary mods.  Probably a number of other CC'ers have similar youtubes if for whatever reason you're not a fan of either.  

I have a few for my other account.  Grozovoi Legendary is pretty good as is the Hindenberg Legendary.  On the other -- as I recall my Khab legendary wasn't worth the effort.

I only just got the Des Moines UU and like it so far.

I think a number of CC'ers have commented the the Des Moines Legendary is worth the effort -- or I suppose in this instance worth spending ironownium (or whatever its called) on it.
