I like many others bought Enterprise and i would like to ask you veterans, for some tips on how to play her in tier X matches. im constantly being uptiered and struggling to do anything meaningful, because the AA is too strong for tier 8 planes, This also applies to my Lexington.

i try to dodge flak but some ships have a ludicrous number of flak burst they can fire and the continuous damage of the aa aura shreds my planes apart very quickly. At the point that sometimes i can't even get close...

soo could you give me some pointers on how to improve my gameplay on tier X battles:Smile_unsure:

Not a veteran, but i enjoy CV6.

I play to spot, ap bomb lone cruisers, and rocket strike dd and flanking cruisers.  Don't go against more than 2 ships.

Also you should be able to constantly be attacking, she rebuilds planes fast, don't worry about losing squads as much as other cvs.

Go for the ships on their team at your tier. Stike secluded ships(mainly battleships) that are away from their cruiser escort. Spot. At tier 10 you will be at a disadvantage and thats just how its going to be unless they tweak the matchmaking(which i think they should).

i try, but most of the time how ppl are so scared and terrified by carrier they bunch up in blobs, now that i can manage when it happens on my tier but when it's 2+ and you throw some minos, DMs and all sort of good aa ships into the mix. It get pretty challenging.

If the red team forms 2 or 3 tight formations and your team Scatters all over the map, you are going to lose and can’t do much about it.

One good tactic for scouting is to run planes perpendicular to the expected path of approaching ships instead of flying at them. Also you can stay at the edge of Aaa range and keep those AA monsters spotted. Except Mino and Worcester where you are helpless. Just stay away.

Look at your spotting damage after the game. 50k is OK, 75k is nice and over 100k is excellent. Had a match tonight where 2 red ships were sunk while my torp planes were in attack run at them. Did I complain in chat about kill stealing? Nope!  It was a really close match for once and a dead ship can’t kill planes or anything else.

Also try to play the objectives if you can’t find that lonely Tirpitz that just needs killin’.  Kaga rockets are pretty worthless but they can spot DDs just fine. Then you pray your teammates shoot them. Sometimes I’ll drop a torp squad on a DD on my way to something bigger. Fewer planes to lose in heavy AA, plus the DD is spotted and may have to turn while your team (hopefully) shoots him. I even hit them sometimes ... more often than they expect I think.

Here is my suggestion.

This does work, but it just seems very conditional.  It also isn't very difficult to do, once you get used to the timing.  But I also wouldn't rely on it either, picking the right ship to attack and when to attack is more effective.

Avoid the amount of time you are in a ships AA, and some times it is just better to send your planes back rather than trying to make another drop.

Slingshot has worked for me sometimes. But I'm still learning how to do it without over shoting or under shoting the target.

The Enterprise, unlike many of her T8 counterparts, can keep up the fight for a longer period of time (thanks in no small part to its fast regen times on its TBs and attack planes). When facing T6-T8 ships this isn’t as apparent as plane loss is less noticeable. When uptiered, this means you have the option of sacrificing planes to get rid of problem targets (AA crusiers and DDs) and thus making way for the juicer targets (BBs). Like her counterparts, when facing T10s, always pick off the stragglers. By the time they’re dead, the enemy team ideally would’ve broken up more than their initial blob formation. Lining up drops and avoiding flak comes with practice (which can be facilitated through the use of training rooms). I rate the APDBs of the Enterprise on par with the HEDBs on the Lexington as although the latter is more consistent and has DOT potential, ships can’t heal as much from citadel damage (it’s also satisfying dropping 30k on a kron or Cleveland). The rockets are very decent with very little penalty when adjusting and can do massive damage to DDs (because the rockets are rather slow, aim about 1/2-1 ship lengths ahead of a DD and adjust accordingly). The torps have the shortest arming distance of any T8 CV and again very little penalty when adjusting, making it adept at dealing with non-BB targets.

I’ve played 19 battles in the Enterprise so far and I have to say - it’s one of my favorite CVs to date (I have all the tech tree CVs plus Saipan). Just hope you don’t get screwed over by weekend teams ¯\_(ツ)_/¯61854B94-B7B1-4198-9FB2-91BA66E0D59A.thumb.jpeg.dcd67389230fcde73b284e44d9c01310.jpeg

What's the best captain's build for Enterprise?

For cv's there isnt a whole lot of variation when it comes to 19 pt capt.    For Ent alone if you have no other USN CV the only skill i would straight omit is DE since it has AP bombs but heck someone might want the fire chance for the rockets.
