I definitely cannot deny that battleships are my favorite type of ship in this game. The fact that almost 60% of my total battles have been in BBs kind of proves that. However, I also have quite the infatuation with battleships in real life as well. They are just beautiful feats of engineering and I love reading and learning about them, as well as watching documentaries. Its on my bucket list to go visit each surviving US Navy battleship in my lifetime. I got my first one, USS New Jersey, crossed off the list last year, and I thought I would share a few of the pictures I took while there with my fellow WOWS players. They aren't exactly ideal, as she was getting repainted, so please excuse my bad timing. And yes, I'm aware photography isn't my thing. No need to tell me. ;)

Very nice photos, thank you for sharing.

Its amazing to see these vessels and how many served in cramped conditions for long periods of time.

I served on the New Jersey in the 80s, and was not really that cramped.  Like a large moving island - solid as hell.

Yeah, I live near Philly so the Navy Yard isn't too far away. I've only been able to get glimpses driving past on the one bridge going to work at the Linc, but one of these days before they move her or something I wanna find a way to get a picture of the Kennedy - since it's the last ship that can actually be made a museum or the like and they are fighting to get the Navy to hold it longer instead of scrapping. Only ship I've ever been on was I believe a DDG that was passing through that people could go on. Haven't had the ability to go on the Jersey yet.

A former manager I had was on the reactivated Missouri, I don’t recall him saying it was necessarily cramped either, but he did say he found it hard to believe they could squeeze another ~1000 more people on board as they had in ww2.

Thank you for posting your pictures. I wish we had more posts like this on the forum. +1

Well, Im kind of in a pickle right now. I live in east TN, and both the North Carolina, and the Alabama are within a days drive for me. I only have time to go visit one of them this year, and I cant decide which one to go to. I know the pressure is on to see the Texas, since she's in pretty rough shape. Sadly she'll have to wait :(

Often being able to visit the main ship and some others alongside it are good considerations when planning to get the most out of a trip.

At least you are closer to ships such as New Jersey and Massachusetts than I am. Only thing I am close to is a Submarine, but have gotten the chance to see USS Alabama plus the sub there, New Jersey, a CV in California that I remember seeing, but was too young to remember the name of the CV. Saw USS Little Rock, Sullivan’s, and the sub there.
