.... directed that latest live action adaptation of an anime almost to a perfection.  Who would ever thought, considering the other kinds of movies he made.

 

Interestingly, another anime itself has made a nod to Robert Rodriguez's own past works, here with El Mariachi and Desperado.   

 

 

If there is any idea to bring Black Lagoon to the live action big screen --- and this anime is perfect for it --- there is no better director than the one this anime has so successfully captured his style.

 

Note: the other half of this sequence is a nod to another director, as fate would have it, the one that hired Robert Rodriguez to work on Alita Battle Angel.

He filmed a DBZ fan film on the set with his sons lol.
