I wanted to be a beach bum and hang out with beautiful women but my parents would not buy their ten year-old son a surf board so my dream was never realized. :Smile_sad:

Mine were OK with the surfboard; it was the condo on Venice Beach they balked at.

Some of the early pioneers of surf that gets overlooked is a band from Boulder, CO called the Astronauts:

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic, but a lot of Surf came out of Boulder - there’s nothing inherently surfish about surf music and it does have roots in Rockabilly which is still a thing in Colorado.

Really? I'll have to try harder!

Can I have this as an autographed plaque which I can frame and mount on my wall?

Rock-a-Billy, which has it's roots in Country Western, which comes from Nashville, the OTHER surf center of North America.

One of the things which makes Colorado a really, really great place to be is it's location makes it one of the true melting pots of America. Sitting at the western end of the great plains, it draws all kinds of folks who, for whatever reasons they have, have chosen to leave the East or Mid-West and "Go West Young Man". It's a modern state, a progressive state, and a state which allows people the room to be themselves and let their dreams grow. It has a seriously updates and progressive tech base, and a youthful and involved voter base. Not to mention that Red Rocks is one of the best places in the WORLD to ever see a show.

Yeah, I'm busting your juevos amigo; Colorado is great!
