Do any of them write their own songs?

All of them do but I like the covers as I like the songs that they cover.

Some of the best music is not found on the radio anymore.  It's found on Youtube.

That's been the case since Clear Channel took over the air waves in the 90s and then I Heart Radio became the newer version of that nonsense.  (Stirling isn't an independent artist is she?)

According to Wiki she started her first youtube channel in 2007. In 2013 she signed a contract with Lady Gaga's manager and produced her first album. She also collaborates with other artists on youtube.

A couple of her pre-contract videos.

Minniva went the opposite route.

Quote

With the pop single “Rush” she got recognition within the pop music community in Norway, in addition to stirring some interest outside the Norwegian borders. The single became a hit and at its peak topped the charts in Norway. At one point being number 9 on the “VG-Lista topp 10 single (norsk uke 11)” billboard. The same single also landed her a record deal.

Soon it became clear to her that the people around her wanted her to basically be a pretty face more than a voice. Noticing that there was a lot more focus on the visuals, meaning how she looked, than the sound and the music. She started to feel that this was not representing who she was, both as a performer and as an individual. For Minniva it was all about the passion and love for music. She believed that if she continued down the path others wanted and had more or less laid out for her, she could risk losing herself.  So she decided to step away from it all, and start over, down a path of her own choosing, free of outside demands and pressure to fit in a certain role.

In May 2015 she started up her Youtube channel and posted her first metal cover soon after.  Throughout her Youtube career she has also taken songs from other genres, turning them into metal. Although her main passion and focus is on metal music, Minniva listens to and appreciates a wide variety of music. She is better described as someone who loves music, rather than specific types of music.
